Some downtime

Thank you for another month's support!
Now, quickly to the semi-bad news. My motherboard got fried a few days ago. At least, that was what I thought had happened. I ordered a new one, got it home, installed it and nothing new. Same error. Turns out it was the CPU all along. Back to the drawing board, I guess.
Thanks to your incredible support, I'm going to be able to build an entirely new base rigg, save the GPU:s (already got 3 1080's and there's no reason to update those now. I'm considering going for a Ryzen build even though I know they're coming with their new line-up in a few months. I'll think of something.
Nothing should be lost when it comes to the work on the latest animation, but it might take me some time to reinstall and set everything up again. That's what pisses me off most in this; the downtime. I had such good workflow before this happened. Ah, well. That's life, I guess?

2018-12-08 15:37:06 +0000 UTCShit happens and that's just life. As long as the animation progress wasn't lost then it's what it is. And if some animation progress was lost then that's how it is too. Nothing which can be done about it, so not much gained by being frustrated over it. Just need to stay positive and slowly get things back up and running. Hopefully there won't be any other gear failing

2018-12-07 22:14:17 +0000 UTCDon't go with Ryzen. There's an undisclosed issue with the motherboards that will probably leak in the next few months. You'll see performance drops compared to intel-based chipsets.
