Weekly Update - a bad driver
Added 2019-02-12 20:36:46 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
[UPDATE: I just solved the issue by finding and installing the right old driver, so I'm back to work! Super, super happy and immeasurably relieved, after an entire week of trial and error!]
A bad driver. Yes, those three words pretty much sum up my entire past week. I downloaded the new Nvidia drivers Wednesday last week and after a long render session, I came home to a blue-screen. Rebooted but got nothing but a blue screen. Tried for days solve it but had to reinstalled my entire system (I've learned from the past and back-up Everything, though, so nothing lost) and set it up, but now Daz3d doesn't want to use my graphics cards for rendering, instead defaulting to my CPU. I've been researching and many others seem to have hit the same issue, with Cuda cores not wanting to do their stuff after the latest update.
I'm working on a way to fix this, but haven't found a work around yet. I'm going to try and roll back, maybe download some older drivers, to see if those work. If not I'm going to polish and finish the parts I've done so far and release that, so there's something out there while try to sort this out.
Man, this is stressful. Hope things are better with you guys!

2019-02-16 22:30:24 +0000 UTCIt's a shitty situation, indeed. You try EVERYTHING but nothing seems work until-bingo! I just solved it! And 3x old driver solved it and it renders like a charm (so fare).

2019-02-13 15:12:18 +0000 UTCI had a similar issue and after weeks trying everything, I found out that it was just an application called Duet (a software to use an ipad as a dual screen), installed for a while, that caused my graphics card new driver issues...
2019-02-13 01:01:30 +0000 UTCI had a similar issue and changed my system.to default to GPU

2019-02-12 22:20:11 +0000 UTCThis has hit a lot of people. Disable Nvidia auto updates and manually download and install a previous stable driver. It's the only fix. Good luck!
