Why didn't Cid tell her? Well, when he's appearing as Shadow, he has three priorities for whatever he says: Is it cool? Is it dramatic? Is it thematic? He had just taken on the sins of the entire world. What's one more sin? It's too thematic and dramatic to reinforce taking on sins.
