Now that you mention it, it does make a lot of sense for the Tachikoma's to be that way. It would help with public perception, seeing as we know that there's groups openly opposed to Cybernetics and the like. I also think that some of the robot servers in japan even have this kinda voice already. Unfortunately the sources that I can easily record from didn't bother to translate the Tachikoma Theatre sections. Tried to make out what they were saying with the little japanese that I know, but I didn't think it was worth keeping in the reaction with how confused I was. Really need to learn Japanese.

I think the Tachikoma have child voices because they are autonomous weaponised weapon and restraint platforms intended for police work in Japan. "Is that a scary robot?" I hear you ask? No! Because of its silly mannerisms and childlike voice it is cute, and therefore cannot be scary. Does the source you are watching these from not have the post-credits Tachikoma Theatre?
