Remember, this is a world where children can serve the state (village) and potentially die on these missions. They are seen as tools but that doesn't change the fact that they, along with other shinobi, are people and that will ALWAYS be a constant. Naruto just vocialized it. All I can say is keep watching, and look at how this shinobi world effects people. You won't regret sticking with this one guys. I know I didn't.

They did a great job writing this anime. I first seen it a year and a half ago and was watching like 5-6 episodes a day to catch up and finish. Amazing journey and you two will love it.
