When you had to wait a week for every episode these two characters were just AWFUL for the pacing of the show and a complete waste.

But damn Toriyama could have made him a bit more serious. This version of Trunks and Goten living such easy lives and never knowing the horrors that their elders went through. It really shows their immaturity and lack of battle experience here because of that imo. Also think Toryiama just wanted to sneak some of his old gag writing into the character too.
