to do it over itch just simply use a software like DS4 paired with hidhide config to make your system think its an xbox 360 controller, then it will be compatible with any game

I have a problem with my pro controller that I couldn't set up the controlls with it. I can navigate the menu put when I tried changing controlls, the game was waiting for an input, but it didn't register any. Solved it by adding the patreon version into my steam library as an extern game. TLDR pro controller works over steam but not over itch.io launcher

the saves go over automaticly if not you have to look in .steam/debianInstall/steamapps/compdata/2403549046/pfx/driveC/users/steamuser/appdata/locallow/planetJem/NightRunners (i dont know if 2403549046 this is the number on your side but if not it should be one of the longest numbers in that folder because its not a native steam game) and in there should be your save file if the new install has a new location just put the save files in the new directory ;) but It just worked for me when i deleted the old version and put 0.9901 in the folder where the older version was located

For anyone playing on Linux, it is super easy to get the game running. Just use Steam's Proton by running Night Runners through Steam. The only issue is that you need to figure out how to transfer saves to different versions, which I haven't done yet

Hey just use protonGE or some other proton/steamplay feature, to use it 1. extract the game 2. go to steam and under the "games" tab click on "add a non steam game" now go the the nightrunnersprolouge.exe and select it 3. It should appear in your steam libary, right click it go to properties-Compatibility and there you can select your steam play/proton version like in any other game :)

yea the arrow can get confusing at times, its be pointing towards the right towards oncoming in some cases which can make me do a double take which I don't have time for at 200kmh, tho despite only having done a few races with the s15 and I'm very impressed with what was achieved with unity engine, the customization is A+/S tier, driving feels FAST, handling is well too when u have to turn slow down a bit to turn.

I don`t know if I´m the onl one but the enemys are a bit to aggressive when it comes to overtaking. They often don´t brake and ram into you without hesitation and send you flying.

I like the game a lot so far, except for one thing I would like to have changed though. -It isn't too important- but I would like the final race camera shot to be from the perspective of the people on the side instead of it zooming in from them. Like have one of their phone cameras take a picture of the race when it ends instead of it being on the side of the car. I want it looking like a pic from a speed camera Would also give a reason for why they are there too

ive been hit into the air by more competitors then S.K but with him it was even worse. i dont dislike that i was a challenge but when u have a lead and suddenly u are in the air because S.K comes from behind in rocket speed as i brake in to a turn to not crash into the wall, it gets kinda frustrating :)

Thank you for this. Just a prologue and it's already better than many racing games in this decade. You really know what's missing in racing games for a while now: that is a proper street racing experience. Many games are instead more of glorified festivals instead of what this game has. Customization is beautiful: and I'm glad this game is a simcade. The atmosphere is honestly fitting, but it came at a cost of how traffic blends in well, why not have the red taillights a little brighter for gameplay purposes, as well as more traffic car color and type variety (like buses, SUVs) Looking forward to more PAs, more crews, and more drivers hopefully. Also it would be great if the Ariake portion would just be the Shibaura/Rainbow Bridge portion, should be perfect for a PA for another crew there, and is a perfect opportunity for C1 (Inner Circular Route), but without Yaesu as since this a 90s-2008 period game. I wish this game a good development from here on out, this is really a blessing, because if this fails, the genre is honestly doomed.

After i've calmed down i can give accurate genuine criticism. There's a masterpiece in the making here and good thing you let us have a taste early because there's a lot to get excited about and a few flaws with it. First the bad. I'm not sure why you did this but the traffic blends in to the background although that can be fixed by just brightening the tail lights The ai might be either really dumb or literally can't see the player because they kept running into me when ever we were door to door. And with them having infinite density they can easily push you into walls, traffic or just spin you out without any way to fight back. And losing your bet money when the game closes is really bs. If a player is getting their shit pushed in by a ai that's driving super slow and keeps running them off the road they don't need the extra kick while their down. That's a good way to lose a lot of the player base and receive a lot of refund requests. Now the good. The customization MY GOD!!!! Its beautiful. Watching your car grow from a 600000 yen rattlebox into a 1000HP race car is beautiful in it's own right. The sounds overall are sooo good. The engine/exhaust sounds amazing. The soundtrack not what i would usually listen too but very fitting for both racing and fiddling with your car in the workshop just a request to let us add our own music to the in-game radio please. There's a masterpiece in the works and i'm really excited for what comes next just take your time and don't let people bully you into releasing early. I don't want another Cyberpunk release to happen again. Lastly thank you for making this beautiful game i and many others wish well it's continued development.

The overboost mechanic was in TXR and it was mad fun, a surge of HP at the cost of MASSIVE heat, it was almost necesary for the endgame bosses to overtake them, very well written, I agree with all your points.

just beat the boss and got to say love the game so far. I do have a couple quality of life suggestions though 1. the game is very gray which overall is fine still looks fantastic however gray traffic cars on gray backgrounds makes them very hard to spot at times especially when going fast around corners. my suggestion would be simply to up the brightness of the traffic car lights that would make them more visible without destroying the aesthetic of the game. 2. as everyone mentioned the gps is not very good however instead of just saying its shit I'm gonna offer a couple solutions that I think would improve it without damaging that 90s new to japan feel - you could go with a system similar to Tokyo Xtreme Racer where as you approach a junction it comes up with signs on the HUD highlighting what is in which direction and to expand you could make it where if you set a location it highlights which way to by making one of the signs brighter (simulating reading the road signs) - you could give us the option of buying a GPS in the shop that highlights routes similar to the way gauges work 3. this is the least important I would like to see a scramble boost feature with how set in the 90s the game is I think it would be a nice addition and nod to a lesser known tuning system used in japan in the 90s. for those that don't know what scramble boost is its a solenoid that forces closed the waste gate creating "unregulated" boost sudden increase in horsepower but very bad for the engine. it was used for desperate measures and sudden overtakes and i feel it would work well in the setting and mechanics of the game especially with the engine wear mechanics those are my suggestions hope you take them into consideration. Keep up the good work and REALLY looking forward to the full release

I found you can delete the save files from C:\Users\yourname\AppData\LocalLow\PLANET JEM GAMES\NIGHT-RUNNERS PROLOGUE and you can get the game to restart, but cant get past buying a car

the only cars available in the prologue are the 180sx and the 200sx. as for the other things try reinstalling a clean copy of the game with the itch launcher that was recommended to download

I've been sat here for a little over an hour and haven't been able to drive yet. First I was getting a bug that was saying none of the cars were available during prologue. Then I had an infinite loading screen and now it just launches to a black screen! Hope it gets sorted out I am really excited to play.

One bug I've noticed, after about an hour of gameplay, when the night runs out of time the game stays stuck in a loading screen. other than that I've enjoyed it so far.

After 3 hours of gameplay, I would like to share the bugs I found: buying the stripped interior upgrade is heavier then manually removing the interior parts in your garage, the second bug I found is when you try to do a burnout in free roam, and then use the handbrake to stope the wheels from spinning, this will cause the brake and handbrake button to produce the tire skidding sound effect even if the car or wheels are not spinning, it gets fixed the u move the car again. other then that, I am having a blast playing the demo.

some feedback after an 8 hour session (amazing impressions): 1) the visibility on the races are kinda bad, something needs to be done to be improve it, I'm thinking either a GPS upgrade that lets you look always at the minimap (could be located on down left portion of the screen) or making the turns you gotta make more visibile by perhaps putting big signs or reflective signs to warn the player beforehand that a turn is coming. 2) the xbox controller vibration is kinda off, sometime it vibrates when burning wheel, sometimes it doesn't, I think this is more about bug fixing that actual feedback but idk, the rest is gold, most fun i've had with a racing game since MW 2005, nuff said

Ive been testing so many things and different upgrades such as transmissions, ECU'S and tyres but its strange that my 922hp sannis 180 or 200rs really struggles to reach even 260kmh, when my first sannis 180rs could reach 300+kmh with around 450 to 500hp.

another not sure if its a bug or not but i really wanted to buy a second car and i did at first it was a sannis 200rs and i wanted to make it into to a drag setup type of build. having all maxed upgrades and it seems when in around 4th to 5th gear its like it loses speed and doesnt go as fast as the other car i have which much less hp, around 400 less. i also know that overheating wasnt the issue because i checked when driving.

Hi, the game it's just stunning but i have to report some bugs, this can be helpful: when i reset the car it puts me in the wrong way, when you re-fuel your car it happen that you can do it double time and the sound effect of doing it will remain for the rest of the game. Thanks, it would be cool to have infinite money at a certain point or just a game mode for the demo like a sandbox, hope this help.

agree with literally everything you stated, one thing I'd add to that statement is the signs for which direction to go, (commonly in the tunnels and S.K.'s races specifically) need to be made much larger or more visible via lighting effects. Only lost a handful of times in the main campaign and 90% were solely via not being able to determine which route to take.

Hopefully a LOT of stuff gets tweaked before the game comes out, the resetting puts me facing the wrong way 60% of the time (resetting happens a lot when the AI slam into my ass going 240ish KPH on a corner :/) the wrong way races are cancer and atleast SK forced you to do them, randomly getting false started eventhough im holding clutch. Please give us a way to turn off ALL the high speed effects, can bearly see shit past 300kph. And making the gps a minimap would be nice, so its not taking up the center of the screen when you pull it up. And please add a hood camera, the bumper cam is kinda low and i cant see past someone if im right on their ass

For anyone wondering I run demo without problems via Crossover on my Mac and using Wine/Proton on my Arch machine via Steam. Awesome stuff can't wait for the full product, I've been following this project for years and this is super amazing that I finally get to play it thank you <3

Yo ! I played from midnight to 5 am. Amazing game. I have nothing to say. I'm so pleased to have found this game. The potential is huge. The map is beautiful. The degree of customisation is deep. The difficulty is just right, navigation is not easy but after a few race you start to figure out. The atmosphere is amazing. I'm a huge fan of retro games ps1 ps2 specially racing game. Huge fan of TXR and Wangan, this game is simply perfect for those who love these vibes. There is a crazy amount of work. I'm looking forward the full game on steam. I will be happily pay for the game once released. As mentioned earlier, I also miss some background stories about the racer but that's detail. Customisation is deep. Thanks you so so so so much. So long I didn't have an excited video game night like that !

After 10 hours i must say this game is amazing. It's more than a worthy successor of TXR. It is even better in most areas. Only thing i personally miss are the driver and team backstories. But thats way too much work i imagine. Also i hope for some mysterious bosses like the 13 Devils.

Do you guys have slowdowns too? Not FPS drops more like the world is'nt loading fast enough. Happens only when driving fast. Sometimes even every few seconds. Have a good PC and 150 FPS without drops.

Go to customization, select wheels and go to them. It should show up "wheel size" on the bottom of your screen with a button to press. You can customize other parts of your car that way too.

The game is amazing I enjoyed every race so far. What I found is that indicators in some races are not enough to guide you through race. There were many races which I ended up going the wrong direction.

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! I've been blasting through NSFU on pcsx2 the last four days to get hyped. I can't wait to buy TWO copies (gift for a mate who's not sure if his specs will be good) 1. I played a few drags at I guess the first location (will learn names soon). My first tunnel drag event I restarted but still couldn't figure out which lane to take? Old mate carked his car and still finished but I couldn't find any checkpoint to follow. Seemed it was a guess to go with or against traffic at the start? It could just be I didn't distinguish the arrow properly Can't wait to support this amazing game further. Hype was real but the delivery was *french kiss* absolutely worth the wait (and still is worth the wait).

I like the engine break but it would make the game worse on keyboard. I say leave the option to have it ON and make an option where the car decelerates by 10-20% of that original value, like its coasting. I am just dipping my toes in the game but will be around the discord. Congrats on the release and happy holidays

OMFG! I cant believe im actually playing nightrunners!!! Man, the sense of speed in this game is friggin unbelievable. Even the starter car feels like im flying. AAA racing games need to take note. This is how it's done.

If your fuel is low enough, in the pause menu you will have an option to "re-fuel" which you can click. This only appears if your fuel level is low though. Otherwise, you'll get a prompt to refuel your car when exiting/entering a new area. Which also, only happens if your fuel is below a certain level. Hope this helps :)

Hey, just ran into a bug and couldnt find the channel in Discord. At the first Race right after the toll booth when you enter the tunnel, my car just randomly got launched into the air. It clipped through the roof and the road above and I landed god knows where on some bridge or so haha. Sorry if my description is a lil hard to read. Other then that i absolutely love the game!
