Game of Thrones 1X10 RAW REACTION

We finally made it to the season finale! To be honest there were a couple times that I wasn't sure if we would...My plan is to go ahead and get a few of these edited and ready for YouTube and then I will be starting on Season 2 soon!

Gendry's line might be the hardest line in the show so far. "When I hit that steel it sings... You gonna sing when I hit you?"

Joshua Finkelstein

the sunrise thing is basically saying "never" the sun only ever rises and sets in the same place every day. She was saying "he'll be back to normal when something that cannot ever happen...happens"

Matt Camburn

Yes, old boy is 100% faking! Pretending to struggle when clearly….he’s doing ok. (edit: My bad., Ser Fizz confirmed 🫡) I love that scene with Varys and Littlefinger. Two hustlers, chess players, schemers. Gendry!! That’s all. IYKYK

Cristina

Mmhmm. Sansa has that Stark wolf in her, it’ll just take time for the debut.

Cristina

Your comment about Sansa's naive expectations that everyone she meets is going to be good and honorable because she's grown up around ethical people is SUCH a good point. Which goes with a couple of other things to consider. The first is something that's over looked too often: Sansa had no actual say in becoming betrothed to Joeffrey. Yes, of course, we all heard her silly little girl fantasy of wanting to marry a prince and begging for it to happen. BUT if she hadn't wanted to get married, we would have heard her begging NOT to, just like Daenerys did. And just like Daenerys, Sansa would've still been forced into the betrothal. Arranged marriages happen to minors, and they never have any real say in the matter. Add to that, it's the KING that has declared the betrothal. Friends or not, Ned couldn't tell Robert no to any of it - the Hand position, the marriage, or anything else. What the King says goes, and you risk severe consequences if you don't comply. It's something that's literally outlined in the conversation between Ned and Arya at King's Landing when he tells her that Sansa can't go against Joeffrey's word, ever. And its stated and depicted that Sansa was raised to be exactly this: a pretty, obedient, "proper" lady whose sole purpose is marrying a man of as high of status as possible and bearing him heirs. Arya, on the other hand, seems to have been indulged more to be whatever wild thing she wishes (I'm guessing the "why" of this is more outlined in the books, which I haven't read), and it seems likely from her tomboyishness that she's been allowed to spend a lot of time with her brothers. Which brings me to the other point, which touches on something one of the guys on a call was saying towards the end of the video (sorry, didn't catch his name). He was saying that everyone in a family has been raised the same, and therefore if someone in that family is behaving differently than the others, then they are rejecting the family. I gotta respectfully disagree. Everyone in a family is going to get a unique and individual parenting/family experience due to many things, even in a mostly fair and healthy household. BUT in the GOT setting? There is nothing BUT double standards for how people are treated, such as the differences between the treatment of men/women, rich/poor, free/slaves, south of the Wall/north of the Wall, etc etc. Think about how often Ned talks about the ways he was raised as a warrior, and how he's clearly raised his sons the same way. In that kind of upbringing, you would definitely learn more about the realities of the world and human nature, especially the darker sides (I mean, we didn't see the girls being taken out to see the Night's Watch bro beheaded, did we?). Sansa, on the other hand, with the importance of becoming a "proper" lady, would be intentionally sheltered, pampered, and schooled to be pleasant and do what she's told. Honestly, within this narrative, all of her behavior thru episode 9 makes perfect sense. But yeah, I'm a little bit disappointed by the after-convo towards the end of the video in general. Ngl, saying Sansa is mostly to blame for Ned's death is craaazy. And also, the guys saying that a 13 yr old is supposed to have it all together, because they did when they were that age? I mean, I respectfully got to wonder if our dudes actually are remembering correctly what it's like to be 13. Not only was I 13 myself (lol of course), but I used to teach art to kids from grades 3 - 8. Working with hundreds of kids over time like that, you will see them change in a way that is illuminating. Pretty much everything about a kid gets worse for awhile around that age. Like, for real, a 10 yr old's brain, behavior, and ethics are way better than a 13 yr old's lol.

Best GOT reactions ever. Watching with you guys is like watching again for the first time. ❤️❤️

You’re right about Daddys and Daughters. Look at my dad in a certain tone of voice and it’s over. You’re on my list forever and if he makes a move I’m jumping over him to get there first. My oldest is like that with her Dad too. Whatever Dad says, does, believes is right because he’s a proven hero.

ChristinaVVM

Bet you won’t believe you will change your view on one of your top five death wishes. I wonder which one you will come to switch to one of your top best favorite characters? 🤔 and vice versa… let the characters play out.

Jill Renaud

I am here now. About to Jump in. I am here because of your Wheel of Time reactions period. Best out there. I hope others take note. IMO of course. Lets do this. I know you gonna be hittin that timpani sound effect all day here or maybe.. we'll see.

When Sansa walks out towards Joffrey when he's forcing her to look at her father's head on a spike and then The Hound stops her to give her a handkerchief, I don't think she was contemplating jumping off, I think she was planning to PUSH JOFFREY over the edge!

Don’tDrinkTheLuminol

Remember, lannisters still have catlyn daughters..and she is all alone in kings landing so cat can't risk her daughter by killing jaime

Abigail Buck

I don't think Potpie is a name we're introduced to in this season. 🙏✌

Stef Furness

Wait what - Disney witches do not equal Game of Thrones magic.

Ned died without telling Jon who his mom is. That’s what kills me the most. He said “next time I see you, we’ll talk about your mother.”

Nettles

1:50:52 This isn’t made clear in the show. This is how it happens in the books: Ned tells the kids they have to pack up and get ready to go. Sansa is so upset about leaving Joffrey she runs to CERSEI behind her father’s back and tells her that her father is taking them away. That’s how Cersei knew to hurry up with her plan and buy the gold cloaks from Littlefinger. Sansa killed her dad by accident basically. But to be fair. Remember Cersei was the one who told Joffrey to give Sansa the necklace and be kind to her. So Sansa thought it was true love.

Catelyn played Hermione’s mom in Harry Potter. She was only shown like once.

Nettles

43:40 he is faking being old so people will underestimate him. He was also faking being senile so he wouldn’t have to pay Ros (the best hooker).

Nettles

yes!! this is important. i think they missed the connection during their reaction. i hope they see your comment

Trang Le

That guy Cersei was with was not a rando, that's the squire who had been serving King Robert. The one he kept insulting. The one who he told to go get the "breastplate stretcher" when Robert was too fat for his armor. The one who gave the king the wine on the boar hunt that eventually killed him. He's a Lannister. Specifically, Cersei's cousin.

Nik Vann

The author of the “Song of Ice and Fire” book series (which is what GoT is adapted from) took his inspiration from real medieval European history. Every single crazy political thing that happens in this show has happened in real European history in some shape or form. All the modern day European monarchs are cousins. They only stopped inbreeding in more recent history when they finally learned of the genetic problems it caused. It was nothing for them to kill off an entire family line, or to murder other potential heirs to keep the throne. Bastard children v.s. rightful heirs was a real political concept as well, it’s how they used women and sex to maintain control. Remember from HotD, that is the entire cause of the “Dance of the Dragons” aka the Targaryen Civil War that starts in that prequel, which was about 200 years ago in the GoT timeline. Also, in Little Fingers Brothel, his monologue that you guys skipped over while his new employees were being trained was important… Strongly suggest you go back and listen to it… P.S. The GoT producers did listen to the public regarding the sex and nudity for no reason, the actors also started negotiating nudity clauses in their contracts.

Fantastic reaction to the series season 1. Looking forward to s2

As I’m watching this I’m disappointed that no one mentioned that when Joffrey was making Sansa look at her father’s head on that bridge, when she looked down she wasn’t thinking about jumping, she was actually thinking about pushing Joffrey. The Hound didn’t stop her from jumping, he stopped her from trying to kill the king. Sansa was naive and thought everyone was as honourable as the examples she had growing up, that illusion is shattered now. Unlike Arya, Sansa is stuck at court and now has to play the game to survive, which isn’t as straightforward as “stick them with the pointy end”.

So excited for Season 2!! Hope Brandon will continue too

Tamia

King Joffrey is my goat. Long may he reign.

LIKE THIS if you think they should watch the Season 1 lore video after this 😌

Some Targaryens were known to be “dreamers” and have visions (this was mentioned in House of the Dragon). Example, one of Khaleesi’s ancestors foresaw a great natural disaster that led them to flee and so the Targaryens and their dragons survived. This allowed them to be the only ones with dragons in the whole world to survive and enabled them to conquer the 7 kingdoms. You might remember Viserys telling Rhaenyra about the vision Aegon the Conqueror had before conquering the 7 kingdoms. “Aegon foresaw the end of the world of men. It is to begin with a terrible winter, gusting out of the distant North. Aegon saw absolute darkness riding on those winds and whatever dwells within will destroy the world of the living … if the world of men is to survive, a Targaryen must be seated on the Iron Throne.” Though the existence of dreamers are known, there are none known for being immune to fire. So, although the ancient house Targaryen is known to have some magical… “powers” Such as visions or their connection to dragons, Daenerys’ (Khaleesi) ability is basically a miracle. She’s one of a kind!

They keep calling Arya a boy cause: In this time period, how many women do we see in pants? Barely any cause ladies don't wear pants usually in this time. They are soft spoken, polite, clean/neat, only want to sit around and look pretty, and have babies. Arya is loud, outspoken, usually dirty, in men clothes, and wants to be a fighter (things you usually see in a boy). Add that to being young so not having feminine features, she can often be mistaken as a boy. But also, is it usually safer during these times to travel as a man alone vs a woman alone. Not to mention they will be looking for Ned Starks Daughter, so they won't be thinking to look at boys so it's a good disguise.

Can't wait I'm here for it!!!

I do just want to point out that they can't kill Jamie more so to control his father along with keeping Sansa and Ayra safe. Killing his favorite son could lead to him ordering the girls to be killed or worst tortured. Even Tywin is playing it safe by having Tyrion go control Joffrey so he won't do something else that could get Jamie killed.

maze runner 2 today?

Can’t wait to see you guys piece together more of the story!!
