Even Cersei didn’t want to kill Ned. She knew they needed him to trade Jamie. Catelyn had nothing to do with Joffrey choosing to behead him. :/

Maybe Deliverance needs to be your next movie. There’s a reason it’s illegal for blood relatives to a certain removal to marry and procreate. Joffrey’s DNA is aaaallll messed up. Ned did the same thing in s1 for his daughters. In HotD Larys even has that great line about children being weaknesses.
