When someone ordered a bottle of wine, he opens the wine at the table and pours it in to his dish and tastes it first, just in case it’s spoiled. Then he will pour whoever ordered the wine a bit to taste and approve or disapprove of the wine. It’s a joke, that he’s the gun expert as well. They way they talk about the guns is how really snooty people talk about wine. I live in Wine Country, California and it can get pretty ridiculous when you’re at a winery wine tasting or in a fancy restaurant around here.
