A Total of 37 People Died in Season 1 of The Walking Dead: Episode 1: 4 3 Criminals Leon Basset Episode 2: 0 None Episode 3: 0 None Episode 4: 15 Ed Peletier Amy Harrison 13 Atlanta Camp Survivors Episode 5: 1 Jim Episode 6: 17 9 Hospital Patients/Staff 6 US Military Soldiers Edwin Jenner Jacqui

Austin

* The title of the episode, "TS-19", refers to the fact that Dr. Edwin Jenner's wife, Candace Jenner, was Test Subject 19. * The building shown as the CDC is actually the Cobb Energy Center, which is a performing arts center in Atlanta * After Rick tells Jenner "I'm grateful", Jenner counters, "the day will come when you won't be", a phrase eventually used as the title for the season premiere of Season 7 * The bulk of the whisper is audible on the Season 1 Blu-ray, if you significantly increase the center channel to isolate the dialogue. The first two sentences are, "It's in your blood. We're all carriers." * This was revealed in S2EP13 Beside the Dying Fire where it was explained that Rick didn't initially believe Jenner until he witnessed it for himself upon killing Shane, who reanimated despite not being bitten by a walker. * Two of the walkers seen at the end of this episode were actually Gale Anne Hurd's daughter and one of her daughter's friends * The song that plays over the end credits is, Tomorrow Is a Long Time by Bob Dylan * Edwin Jenner's password was 6-9-6-9 * Jenner said that Test Subject 19 resurrected after 2 hours, 1 minute and 7 seconds. This is the same time the clock reads when Rick wakes up from his coma. * Robert Kirkman has expressed that he is disappointed with how the CDC plot line turned out. He said in one of his interviews, "If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have done the CDC episode. It possibly gave away too much information and was such a big change very early on in the series. I feel like there might have been a better way to wrap up the first season. But there were things in that episode that I think seem very much not of The Walking Dead world. I've been careful in the comic series to not say what's happening in other parts of the world. It's something that's going to be fun to explore in the spin-off series. But the fact that France is mentioned in that episode and other things like that, I probably would have steered away from that stuff if I had to do it all over again." * Frank Darabont was the one who came up with the idea of CDC story line. * This episode takes place on the same day as S3EP15 & S3EP16 of FTWD | * In the flashback at the beginning of the episode, Shane is seen wearing black gloves while attempting to evacuate Rick from the hospital. After he hides from the military inspecting Rick's room, Shane's gloves disappear. * During the playback of TS-19, just after the TS-19 dies, the playback counter at the bottom of the screen suddenly jumps from "32:18:12" to "12:18:13", jumping back 20 hours, but when scanning to the second event, the numbers go from 32 up to 34 hours to resume playback. * Jenner's scan shows that in a walker, only the brain stem and midbrain are still functioning. Yet, in future episodes, it is shown that simply damaging only a little part of the cortex is sufficient to kill a walker. * Jenner inaccurately gives the resurrection time as "2hrs:01min:07sec" but the timings using the clock at the bottom of the screen from the moment of death (32:18:12) until the first signs of EEG trace signals (34:20:23) is actually "2:02:11". * The first soldier that is grabbed by walkers in the flashback scene is wearing an outdated Desert Camouflage Uniform, compared to the rest of the soldiers that are wearing the Universal Camouflage Pattern.

I say finish TWD first & then move on to the other series’. I would only recommend Fear the walking dead because a few characters from TWD crossover & you get to see the continuation & conclusion of their stories which is the only reason I watched. Then I’d watch Dead City, Daryl Dixon & the ones who live (this is a must to see an important storyline concluded). I’m surprised more ppl don’t agree. I know FTWD isn’t that great but there are still some things that came from it that I thought was important to TWD universe.

Jade

Yeah watch these 11 first. You could probably tell by 4/5th season if you like it enough to go another 5 more seasons. There’s so many shows out there you’ve started so don’t hurt yourselves out!

justbibi

Only people who have already watched TWD would want to watch the series split up like that. Watch this one first and then decide if you want to commit to that much. A lot of people love all of the spinoffs and other people don't. Y'all will know which you are by the end of these seasons.

Dolorous Jess

Agree with most. Don't watch the spinoffs until yall finish TWD. The spinoffs themselves aren't all that great and was just more of a cash grab for A&E. I personally didn't even finish due to them being so long and boring. The main TWD show by itself is long enough and falls off in later seasons anyway with the writing and production changes.

El Chuncho

just bought the subscription so I could watch the newest ep

Ronan Crawford

That's the 'in universe' chronological order of all the different shows, however there's minimal tie-in between all the different spin offs and that's an insane spoiler to give you before you'd even finished season 1 haha! Fear the walking dead is mostly trash but the first 3 seasons are pretty good. TWD world beyond is one of the worst shows I've seen. Just watch The Walking Dead main show seasons 1-11 and enjoy it without spoilers, when you get to the end you'll know which spin offs you're interested in

ryung246

I'm so bored now that you guys finished season 1. Can't wait for the next season

Alyssa A

I finally caught up y’all need to drop some more

Deshaun MORRIS

I would say don’t watch the spin offs unless you want to. The walking dead is amazing for a while but it really falls off in the later seasons (like the last 2) and for me becomes almost unwatchable. That’s just my opinion though.

Zeke English

It’s hilarious that you guys keep clowning on t-dog lmao

Zeke English

That's a non issue later on, without trying to spoil anything

Constantdev

Guys go back and watch Shane in the hospital with Rick again. Because you guys talked through it, you didn't see everything he did and thought before he left.

Ptrn6884!

Seriously?! Why would you say that?? If you're going to make a comment, don't ever talk about where a character ends up in future episodes. That's a spoiler, SMH. Unless you just trying to be nasty to the guys.

Ptrn6884!

I don't know who told you that lineup but that is absolutely ridiculous! Do NOT watch the spin-offs in between The Walking Dead. First of all, they're not as good! And second of all they have nothing to do with the main story...they're spin-offs! You watch those after for fun!

Ptrn6884!

i SAID WHAT I SAID

PVaughn

Nah, just watch the walking dead main show all the way through, then you can go for the spinoffs. (I mean, it's your choice, but honestly, I think you'd get more views if you stick with what you're doing now).

connie

I agree with them watching TWD in one consecutive go, not throwing a weird order for others like fear the walking dead in before they're done. but just saying "don't watch something" is just a shit attitude. Say you don't like it, or to not interrupt the show you're currently enjoying, don't take away from something someone else might want to watch because you don't like it. Just don't watch it if they do? why would you try to impose your opinion on a content creator and their entire audience

Jonah

PLEASE just watch "The Walking Dead" to completion and then move onto the spin offs. Not only is that too much effort, and take way too long, but also many people who are here specifically for TWD show not the universe (like me) will likely just unsub when those weird breaks come while you watch the spinoffs, and resub when you get back to the main show. I want to see all the spinoffs eventually but NOT in the middle of this show.

Jonah

Yep, I watched a few seasons of Fear then quit. I heard it got better once that one character from TWD (you know who) got there. It had good potential, but didn’t really live up to what we thought. I agree about Colman Domingo. He was good in the movie, The Butler. He has the voice and the look and you can tell he’s really studied his craft.

Jen M

Fear was... interesting. It had its ups and downs, with a lot more downs than ups. But it had some outstanding actors on it. That show was my introduction to Colman Domingo, and it's been so awesome seeing him blow up into one of the most acclaimed actors working today. And then when they added Garret Dillahunt in later seasons, that was what kept me trying to power through since that dude is just great in everything. I never ended up finishing the show; I think I bailed after like season 5 or 6.

Jeff K

Agree!!

Jen M

This 👆🏾

Jen M

Yall are too early in to worry about the spin offs. Some of the spin offs are spoilers in themselves. Just enjoy the actual show for now. TWD fans are some of most impatient, wannabe spoilers ever! 😆 This is my favorite show, but I wasn’t a fan of FTWD or The World Beyond.

Jen M

that’s your opinion

sxunder

cant wait for season 2

Sahae

I didn’t spoil shit. You did.

Tami Hart

IN ENTIRETY. Don't listen to the folks saying it ain't worth a watch after season 7 💯

Na-Shara

Do not watch Fear.. Just the Ones who Live is the only necessary spinoff. IMO

PVaughn

i love your guys twd reaction please keep posting them! <3

Analisa fink

Season 2 is the one that got me hooked! Can’t wait to see yall react to it.

Amanda Hill

That's what I love to hear!!! -Adison

Adison Hardyway

Hasn’t been shown or talked about in the show, but there would probably be alternate methods on restarting the brain before reanimation kind of like bringing somebody back with a defibrillator, but instead of jumpstarting the circulatory system, you would be trying to keep the brain alive essentially keep the person living until after reanimation essentially, once that is done, theoretically one could render someone immortal. You would never need to eat sleep breathe mortal wounds will never touch you. And it even poses the question if this isn’t, the wrath of God was this a person or group trying to play God or a bit of both I’d imagine God doesn’t like being mocked

Austin Hogan

Oh okay, interesting. Thank you for this!

christine d.

same i watched some bits and pieces later on in the series some i liked but i could never get into the main character madison so that stopped me from watching more-the ones who lived the only one i saw too and loved it of course-but just watching the original series probably the priority for them since thereso many spinoffs

jasmin

They didn’t upload it to TWD collection. But it’s in the not on YouTube playlist.

Serena

Yup! 🧟‍♀️

Serena

Agree

Serena

This!

Serena

I would recommend just watching the entire TWD first. Everyone tries to get creative but it’s best to just watch TWD in full before you entertain any of the spin offs.

Serena

As someone who has gone without a shower for weeks (due to work, not by choice) a hot shower means so much lol

SpecialK1398

I didn't make it past season 1 of Fear of the Walking Dead. I never cared about the characters. By the time it did air Game of Thrones was taking off. I only give myself 1 show per season to indulge. So I didn't get into any spinoffs except The Ones Who Lived. I'd stick to the main show for as long as possible. I did want to share, if you didn't know, The Walking Dead is a graphic novel (comic book) series by Richard Kirkman. Most of the characters are in those novels and Kirkman was involved with the tv show. In its day, TWD on AMC was getting 20 million+ watching on Sunday night. I think it had a wider appeal because the show focused on the characters and toned down the violence & language from the books. I remember visiting a nursing home and seeing 'The Walking Dead Watch Party" on the board as an activity for the residents! However, those who read the books always complained about the changes. There are articles about 'what show will be the Next Game of Thrones' and that is rarely said about The Walking Dead. As viewership of TWD declined Game of Thrones took off and TWD never technically ended. The series finale was a setup for the spin-offs. I like good writing and TWD is up there with character development as Game of Thrones. I hope you enjoy it.

Rindamarie

Fear after 3 seasons Is garbo only two spins off that are worth is Dixon, the ones who live, and maybe the dead city one. Love the main series can't wait for my fav s5!

FireDoc

I do not agree with the watch sequence recommendations. Watch The Walking Dead seasons 1-11, then The Ones Who Live and Darryl’s spin off. The rest is ass!!! The Fear of The Walking Dead I thought was going to be decent until Season 4, idk wtf happened with the writing.

Shameka Thompson

Yeah, maybe but I don't even see anyone else saying that they can't see it either 🤷🏽‍♀️

christine d.

I can't find it either. Maybe an issue with the upload?

Fyre SPell

SPOILER

miss texas

miss texas

ALL U HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT THE CURRENT POSTERS FOR THE SHOW RICK ISNT IN ANY OF THEM. THEY ALL HAVE DARRYL AS THE NEW FRONT MAN SO STFU . YALL GETTING ON MY NERVES. MATER OF FACT LET ME BLOCK PATREON NOTIFICATIONS 🤣🤣

miss texas

This is a pretty big spoiler. You should make it a lot more vague as to not ruin the viewing experience for them

Lily Taylor

Whaat I really liked TOWL

Constantdev

Please don't start on the spin offs until you finish the main show. There are a few I would recommend but finish the main series first.

Sandy Emile

No need to watch spinoffs they're dog poo

Danger Tomato

I agree. Please don't watch FTWD.

Sandy Emile

3:40 The difference between these zombies and train to Busan you’re dealing with a biblical flood only instead dead will rush over as if water over rocks where as The Walking Dead is just a new phase of existence like the collapse of the bronze age after that happened all written scripture and literature all accumulated knowledge seemingly stops for 500 years kings were ripped from their halls at the hands of their subjects, and the royal familys people of nobility, were eaten alive if the stories are to be believed it was a complete degradation of society, nomadic, tribes, and cruel barbarians ruled everything never staying in one place and that was around 1200 BC

Austin Hogan

Can’t wait for season 2 ! Love the reactions

Cherelle jackson

Don’t watch the spinoffs at least not yet I would honestly just stick with the main show and down the road if that’s something you guys want to check out then maybe it’s just a whole lot to do the show and spinoffs at the same time

Olivia

Only gets 100% better from here

Jess Tyrell

I would only suggest keep watching this original walking dead seasons until you feel like you can't more :D. Then you can jump to next show.

Thamor

the spinoffs are terrible.

Krabs

I think you guys should just watch the full series before moving on to the next spin off. Instead of jumping around

Riy

I hope you guys watch all the spin off there fun watch once you get into the lore and the world they build

ariel mermaid

Wait did you guys miss an episode or am I just not seeing it? The last one I saw was Episode 4

christine d.

I mean I agree. Really liked the character and the show. Im purely talking about how the majority sees the show. The content doesnt create the best react material. I should also clarify I meant from season 1 to the end of season 4

Max

Please do NOT watch fear the walking dead or the world beyond. Waste of time. The other three are very worth it though

Adam Beiter

Nah, season 4, when a certain character gets added, is when it started getting fun

Mikel Swart

As someone that really liked fear twd, sadly its true. Besides like season 1 and 3, the show gets super stretched and boring for most. Id just watch from season 1 to 4 and end there. It gets real questionable after that

Max

Fear was great and world beyond gave us more world building and made the ones who live make more sense

Mikel Swart

The spinoffs are great in their own right. And Rick is in season 9 so I don't know what you're talking about

Mikel Swart

Hey I’m a cannabis scientist, we all ain’t crazy 🤪

Rah29

Lies

Mikel Swart

Spoiler!!!

Tami Hart

Nah the spinoffs aren’t that good

Tami Hart

the church van is T-Dogs!! He drove around elderly church members before the outbreak I'm pretty sure

Ella

“A day will come where you wont be” always gets me🥲

Rosh

OMG just in time for a snow day here! ❄️

randvi

Great episode 👏🏾

Tremaine Wamer

Can't wait for season 2

Heavenly Demon

None of the spins offs are worth watching except 'The Ones Who Live' cause its the only spin off that stars Rick as the main character. The walking dead after season 7 and all the spin offs Rick isn't even in them anymore💔

miss texas

Chekov’s gun, great use of Grenade Call back from Episode 1 Used late

Demon Rick

These MF's hate T-Dog lmao

Daaylen Watson

i rocked with Shane but he lost me this exact episode, Disappointed he would stoop that low & attempt that💔

Demon Rick
