The Walking Dead 2X7 RAW REACTION

We finally got the answer to one of our questions and man this one hurt...Hope y'all enjoy the uncut reaction to The Walking Dead 2X7 titled "Pretty Much Dead Already"

-Adison

Comments

* The title of the episode, "Pretty Much Dead Already", refers to the fact that Shane told Dale that he was, "pretty much dead already". * The episode's exact runtime is 00:42:53. * Madison Lintz (Sophia Peletier) appears in this episode after being absent since S2EP2 "Bloodletting" (besides a flashback in S2EP5 "Chupacabra") * According to Greg Nicotero on AMC's Talking Dead, two endings were filmed for the episode, one in which Sophia is decaying (the scene used) and another where she appears normal, representing what the characters want to see. * Glen Mazzara stated that the barn massacre is referred to as, "Barn-ageddon" * In S2EP2 Bloodletting Carl told Andrea that she only hoped Sophia would not end up like Amy (bitten and reanimated). Ironically, this is what happened, fulfilling her mother's fear. * Interestingly, Sophia was also bitten on the neck, similarly to Amy. * Glenn makes a reference to the video game Portal, when comparing it to him being put in the well with the walker. * In the TV show Supernatural, Sheriff Jody Mills makes a reference to this episode when she states that her deputy still has nightmares about "the barn episode of The Walking Dead". * Both Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Lauren Cohan (Maggie) starred on Supernatural * This episode starts the tradition of killing off a female character in the mid-season finale with the death of Sophia Peletier. * Penny Blake and Donna were killed in S3EP8 "Made to Suffer" * Meghan Chambler, Lilly Chambler, and Alisha were killed in S4EP8 "Too Far Gone * Beth Greene and Dawn Lerner were killed in S5EP8 "Coda" * Deanna Monroe was killed in S6EP8 "Start to Finish" * Olivia and Isabelle were killed in S7EP8 "Hearts Still Beating" * Natania was killed in S8EP8 "How It's Gotta Be" | * When Dale and Shane are in the woods, you can see on Shane's T-shirt a couple prints of the gun barrel even before Dale pressed rifle on his chest. * During the confrontation between Maggie and Glenn, Maggie's blouse alternates between being on and off her right shoulder. * Just before Rick, Hershel, and Jimmy arrive with the walkers they caught, T-Dog's hand is on his head, and his lips don't move, even though in the next shot he says "Oh shit!", and his hand is not in his head. * When Shane finds Dale in the swamp trying to hide the guns, when he first sees Dale, Dale is holding a large spike to drive into the tree. In the next second, they show Dale standing next to the tree with the spike already in it.

That was Sophia at the end as a walker... I seen the behind the scenes when they were doing her makeup and putting the contacts in her eyes... Daryl took this being her last episode the hardest... he had the strongest connection with her... Sophia also said those contacts blinded her and they had to re do that scene multiple times because she kept stepping on people cause she couldn't see

Shemeka meemee Beamon

daaaamn…. I’m watching this series purely through y’all. I’m not super big on zombies but maaan. This is a good series! I’m hurt 😭

Jacena

Someone else might have already pointed this out but Daryl lashes out when he's hurt. Calling Carol the B word is him not being able to grieve for Sofia.

Felicia Salazar

She could've gotten bit somewhere else though. Remember Otis went and got her

james moore

he was making the right decision for survival but he was just too obsessed with lori

outstandingmember87

Not only that. The same way glen found an open entrance at the top, that's the same way Sophia found it and thought it was safe until it wasn't. She didn't know and it was probably dark.

Melinda

If you didn't catch it, when Hershel & Rick went to get the 2 out of the swamp area, Rick asks if he does this all the time, and Hershel says that Otis used to be in charge of it, but since Otis is gone, now they have to do it. I don't agree with Hershel keeping the walkers in the barn by any means, but I genuinely don't think he or anyone on the farm knew that there was a young girl in the barn once Otis was killed.

Stefanie Anderson

Why should she keep her legs closed? Personally I wouldn’t have had sex with anyone so soon after my husband but Lori is emotionally immature. Regardless there’s no way to confirm who the dad is when Rick came back so soon afterwards. What’s she gonna do? Play innie-minnie-minie-mo & pick one? If Rick is the dad but Shane is raising the baby as his own that’s also wrong.

Montae Williams

Exactly!!

Rony

Nah she was wrong! She should’ve kept her legs close. She knew. A woman always know

ReelPiscesPlays

Had to pay for the membership cause I couldn’t wait

ReelPiscesPlays

thats the walking dead for ya

NorthhSZN

i meeeeeean the last episodes of this season in TWD are really amazing, and season 3 is where i think TWD really starts getting its footing and really takes off as its own show as well as the storylines that we get in season 3 are great

Janel

Lori wasn’t foul telling Shane the baby will never be his in this situation. She had sex w/them back 2 back so there’s no tellin who’s baby it is. She and Rick decided to stay together & parent the children together- o well. If it were present day them obvi each dad would have their own role but unstable Shane is gonna have to take a step back.

Montae Williams

TWD is a masterclass at writing character. That moment with the Walkers was a real world comparison of the conversation about Rick not being ready for this world, and the conversation about Shane being made for this world. One single moment, a single shot, proves that both are wrong. Rick is indeed what this world needs and Shane is indeed, not built for the harsh realities of this world.

Saturn Maynie

With out giving any major spoilers, all I’m gonna say is we see some serious character development in certain people.

Matthew Tallent

I was coming to say this. As much talk as Shane talks and as tough as he acts, he couldn’t put Sophia down. He wants to sit and talk about Rick not being able to do the heavy lifting, and do what needs to be done, but he sat back and watched as Sophia came walking out of the barn. Rick did the heaviest of lifting by putting her down bc no one else had the guts.

Matthew Tallent

Listen bro I know and understand everyone’s hate for Shane…..but Lori is on some other ish man she is fowl all the way around Shane is a product of the environment Rick is too trusting and foolish right now later y’all will see Shane wasn’t completely wrong was he wrong in certain things he has done yes sir no questioning that but he was right on how to be during this type of environment

Jonathan centeno

i love how you called out shane not being able to kill sophia himself, that’s a thing that makes him and rick so different and why rick is the leader of the group.

gabby

You’re probably tired of hearing this from me but PUHLEASE watch more Breaking Bad!!!! Season 2 of Breaking Bad >>>>> season 2 of WD.

Hwhalter Huwite

Malaya Allen

I'm dead ass serious, that would make you Native American. Nobody has had more hardship than black indigenous indians, and black people, we went through centuries upon centuries of yt peoples violence towards us. Im sorry for you hardship but your story and history is not mine. My history is documented, the truth shouldn't be offensive. People hate when blk people learn who they are. But Americas tries to hide who we are. Here comes your what about ism. Your beef should be for people who caused it. I'm not here to make feel good, Here's a ♥ do you feel better now.

Cheryl Wilborn

Otis was the one rounding up the walkers, so Hershel and them wouldn't have known. Ironically, Shane killing Hershel prolonged finding out Sophia's fate.

connie

Are you for real right now?? I’m white and Choctaw, and you’re being about as offensive as it gets. My ancestors were forced to walk from their land in Mississippi which was stolen from them all the way to Oklahoma, facing hardships and losing so many of their loved ones along the way. Then they had their language and culture stripped from them and forced to live in military encampments. And that’s just part of the atrocities that happened to my specific people. Each of the other Native American tribes have their own tales of terror and crimes committed against them by the white colonizers to tell. The land and culture wasn’t enough for us to lose? The horrible rez conditions of today and the human trafficking that goes on there ain’t enough too? You really wanna take away Native American’s rightful claim as indigenous peoples too —- and instead accuse them as some kind of duplicitous co-conspirators of genocide??? Are you f-ing for real?? Talking like we’re some kind of dog bred by white settlers who never existed until they created us. Like, I’m not even kidding: denying a people’s existence is one of the main tenements of genocide. You’re spreading some real evil. Get help. Also you might consider educating yourself on Paleo-Indians, the Mammoth Steppe and Beringia as an alternative to writing historical fanfiction.

Gen Be

Your name is Ricki? that’s fire😭✅

Demon Rick

Top tier episode! 🔥 When Carol was running, screaming “Sophia!” and Daryl grabbed her. Absolutely heartbreaking! 💔 🥺

Jen M

Believe it or not, the country I live in is one of the other dozens of countries in our world that isn't america. But I am a black african, and I can't even begin to deconstruct the nonsense you just said, just about my motives in questioning you, let alone about world history.

A.

Dam after all this time, thanks for FYI 👍

HBK713🏄🏾‍♂️

Remember, it was Rick that told Shane about the baby. Not Lori

jalyn h

bro nobody is reading that paragraph

outstandingmember87

Sorry but with the way Shane was talking about Sophia? He is not a father whether that baby is his or not. He's unwell and not capable of properly fathering a child regardless of safety. I loathe Lori but she was correct on that.

girlboss

Shane is the clown and the most emotional person in this season. Everyone has a valid reason to be emotional but Shane’s reason jealousy, anger, etc is emotions he shouldn’t be feeling for people he doesn’t need to feel for. Shane is a “want to be a leader” but can’t handle it. Rick is the least emotional he still continues respecting Shane even knowing what he did. Rick continue to be a leader, father, husband knowing his wife slept with his best friend and is pregnant. Yet as soon as Shane found out he goes to shoot a barn of walkers.

Kookie luv

Nebraska is def an underrated episode!

Jen M

This whole season.. the last few episodes of it are some of my favorite tv ever

Cole

Hersel and them didn’t know Sophia was in the barn. It says it in this episode that Otis was the one who brought the walkers in and since Shane killed Otis no one knew she was in there. Shane is a lose cannon that needs to be stopped. It is true that without him doing that crazy move it showed that Sophia was there but I believe that they would have saw Sophia in the barn anyway but Shane is so obsessed that Rick was doing the wrong thing he took matters in his own hands which was a mistake. Shane is reckless and I know that he would have killed Hersel and everyone and take over the farm. Shane has to die.

Karla Johnson

Yup. And unless the baby came out as a twin to Shane (looks wise), there's nothing Shane can do. He can't do a paternity test.

Sandy Emile

💖💖💖💖

Heavenly Demon

"I dont care what your daddy said!! THIS MY FARM!" LMAO funny shit

Alyssa Dyson

I remember watching this episode for first time many years ago. We were all devastated when Sophia came out of that barn. 😔 It hit us hard. Also, in the end though it was closure. Now, that is has been so long ago and I am a little removed. I can say as far as Zombies go. Sophia was the cutest zombie I have ever seen.

Camillionaire

Shane is the most emotional one in the group!!

vstre002

this isn't anti anything this is pro historical facts. This is something to be proud of. I'm very proud of ancestry. I know where my ancestors come from and it's America. It's proven and documented. I can actually prove it on records. Newspapers from the 1700s and 1800s. It's a beautiful thing. I dint understand why your upset about history.

Cheryl Wilborn

I'm fine are you good. Don't you read or know American history, Do you visit museums, The history that wasnt taught in school. The history that made yt folks loom like heroes instead of enslavers, thieves, murders, rapist. It's not a pretty, but that is who those people were. If your not educated in the country you live in just say that. Give me a name of yt woman or man who has done right by blk people. Most invention were invented by blk people, which we use today. This may trigger you because your history is nothing but violence. You have a chance to right those wrongs, but your still benefitting from supremacy and you wouldn't want to give that up for anything. That's why we have the President that we have now. Because it runs deep. You won't admit it because God forbid your wrong about voting for a racists who is taking page by page out of Hitler book on authoritarian and blaming poor people for Americas problems. If you knew history, you would've done everything not to repeat it. Since uneducated people are voting they haven't a clue what they voted for.

Cheryl Wilborn

Really one of my biggest things when it comes to the whole "Team Shane" crowd. Shane isn't even as hard as he says he is he's just loud and doesn't regulate his emotions.

ItsRobbie

Native Americans, Egyptians, Mongolians, and ancient history buffs all catching strays right now

ItsRobbie

Been waiting for this ep since yall started watching. This & Nebraska are top tier episodes.

Tonja Brown

Are you okay?

A.

I swear black folks steady be on some anti-African stuff. Malcolm X is rolling over in his grave. Lawd...

El Chuncho

Memphis?!?!?! I knew it. Brandon you have the face of an indigenous blk American..My lineage is from the original Americas indigenous, my father is half blk indigenous Indian. Not all of us came over in ships, alot of us have always been here. When Columbus found (never discovered, it was stolen, this is our home) America he was met with blk people thriving and flourishing on this land with an abundance of food and water, building structures that couldn't be replicated today, was ours. that's one of the reasons they committed genocide of us for our resources and spread disease to kill us off. Your hair, your nose, your copper skin is beautiful..Never forget who you are, Memphis is the real Egypt before they changed our maps. We were indigenous before they reclassified as negros. The yts brought over Mongolians and made them the probationary Native Americans, to hide who we really are. Thats why Native Americans look Asian. I have pictures in my family of blk indigenous Indians, we were everywhere on this land. Memphis is the mecca of blk indigenous Indians. This is our land and our lineage, and our history. Never allow them to tell you a lie about who you are. Happy Black History Month King. ✊🏿

Cheryl Wilborn

Shane always says Rick can’t make the hard choices and yet again…😅 shooting out walkers you don’t know is easy. Shooting a little girl walker you knew is hard. This fool Shane don’t know a mirror when he sees one

Aslaug Sofie Ogilvie

Brandon from Memphghanistan 😆

Daniel Q

38:11 🤣

Desteny Alatorre

Shane's the most emotional one in the group.

A.

Remember that Daryl said he got lost as a child and nobody looked for him. He found his own way back. I think it is triggering him that she wants to stop looking for her child. He probably knows how scared Sofia must be feeling.

yasminn marinho

Not sure how many people here have read the comics but they are heads and shoulders better than the show.

El Chuncho

I just can’t believe y’all have me agreeing with Lori, my least favorite person on the show, again but technically she’s correct. Addison is also 100% correct, it is super foul. However…legally the child would be Rick’s because he’s her legal husband. His name would be on the birth certificate as the father, assuming it’s not the zombie apocalypse and the Office of Vital Records still exists. 🤣

SRGC1978

Since they started uploading twd I been waiting for this ep

Henzino

We need more Vikings videos!!!!

TheOnly Will

Dang! I’m at work! Can’t wait to watch! Shane’s speech in this episode is top tier! “You wanna live!? You wanna survive? You gotta fight for it! Right here! Right now!!!” *proceeds to knock the lock off the barn*

Jen M

Shane was right about the possibility of Sophia being dead, but he handled it poorly bc those gun shots could have drawn a lot of walkers in their farm area and he didn’t have the balls to shot Sophia!

Shaniya

right, the group too emotional

outstandingmember87

Thanks guys 🙏 keeping us fed with the reactions 😭

Desteny Alatorre

next ep its explainerd...so naw.

Marcos Jiron

Shane was doing all that yelling and he couldn't even shoot Sofia's walker. Also, even if shane didn't force their hand, rick would've probably saw Sofia in the barn while helping hersal with the walkers. they would've not wasted any more time looking and the group wouldn't be as traumatized

StrawHat

Herschel said Otis put them in the barn. So I genuinely don't believe Herschel and his family knew. I still cry when she walks out the barn. I'm so glad y'all picked up that Shane couldn't do it, nor could anyone else. They all look to Rick as a leader but cannot make the hard decisions. Herschel was in shock - his belief just got shaken. I also think Daryl is still mourning Meryl which is why his emotions are all over the place. He's doing what he does best - tracking, so yes he wants to keep looking. He doesn't know if his brother is dead or alive. He's joining a new family and may feel he is betraying Meryl.

Rindamarie

One of the few walking dead episodes that is on the level of breaking bad

RA

Otis put sophia in the barn before he died

miss texas

It’s sad to think Sophia got bit and suffered and died alone in the woods. This show is so good! I’m loving rewatching it with you guys

I'm with Shane. Enough of this clownery.
