lori's reaction put the nail in the coffin for my hate towards her. just disgusting. instead of comforting your devastated husband you lash out because he killed his best friend, who you were sleeping with and stringing along, who tried to kill him first?! the audacity. and carl didn't have to shoot shane, he could've alerted rick and he would have put him down. so i get its fucked up that it happened, but that's what the gun training was for. it was gonna happen at some point and it sucks it had to be shane but thats on shane, no one else.

I think Lori was in shock but would have gotten past it until she heard Carl put down walker Shane and that pushed her over the edge. That was when she got truly upset with Rick and while she wayyy overreacted I find that part understandable to an extent. Her very young son had to shoot walker Shane, who was basically another surrogate dad to him. That’s horrifying. Should she have taken it out on Rick? Absolutely not. But I think we know that Lori does not react well to literally anything. She is bad at being a wife, a mom, a friend, a person… but she is an interesting character study of an incredibly flawed individual trying to survive an apocalypse. So while I don’t like her, I find her character interesting.

Rick’s little monologue on the end, I had the same reaction as yall. Cause how are they gonna sit there & talk about Rick like that? Leave & make those hard decisions on your own then if you have better ideas. Being a leader is hard, even harder in the apocalypse. Killing Shane really changes Ricks character, not just right now, but over time. Killing his own best friend/brother was not taken lightly by him. Overall, the group was super ungrateful for Rick IMO. Loris reaction…… not much you can say about it. Whether she was upset about Shane or that Carl had to put him down, why ar you taking it out on your husband??

Honestly I think it was because Carl put down Shane on top of the shock of Rick killing him. I think if he had just admitted he killed Shane she would have been shocked but comforted him. But the hate in her eyes she should direct at herself...if she had been a good mom Carl wouldn't have escaped the house and been there to shoot him!! She is a crap mom 😂

That’s why I think the writers really fucked up w her character. After her son got shot it’s not logical to me for her to not be keeping a close eye on him. And even after thinking she lost her husband, Carl was her world (Shane aside since ik y’all like to make jokes) why did they make her seem so careless it just doesn’t add up. Even when Rick got shot and ended up in the hospital, her main concern was how it would affect Carl.

You guys spend a lot of time calling out "plot holes" in how the zombies act. You need to suspend your disbelief a little to enjoy a show like this. It is, after all, about people who die and then come back as monsters. The horde formed because the one heard the helicopter, a bunch followed her, and they picked up more along the way. They aren't going anywhere, they just have a tendency to flock together and follow each other toward the next noise.

The writers definitely messed up if they wanted her to be a sympathetic character, but people really go all out blaming her for things that aren't her fault. Her child goes to bed and it's her fault for not watching him when he sneaks out? She's supposed to be doing nothing but looking at him like he's an infant?

So, people here are defending Lori, and I am not sorry. That woman just sowed chaos with every decision she made and every conversation. Then she spins around and acts like the victim, mad at Rick for killing Shane when she was the leading cause of it all, angry at Shane for lying about Rick, yet she didn't tell Rick the truth until she had to. Constantly putting Rick and Shane at odds with each other, continually putting pressure on Rick for whatever reason she was unhappy about that day, and leading Shane on with vague conversations I think she just liked that her husband was fighting for her and Shane was pining after her, In the before world, it seemed like they were having issues already. She liked the drama, playing the victim and getting saved by whoever was closest. "that's my final take on this character"

So, I read an article from an interview with the actress that plays Lori, Sarah Wayne Callies.... it always stuck out to me because I initially thought Lori was mad Rick killed Shane and Carl had to kill zombie Shane. The article states, “I don’t think her reaction had to do with the fact that [Rick] killed Shane,” says Callies, dropping by TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite. ”The right man, I think in her mind, did walk out of that fight.” "In fact," Callies offers, "Lori’s horror had more to do with the fear that Rick might be turning into someone very similar to the former buddy he’d just slain." I guess I can understand the fear of that in the moment but she seemed more angry than worried or afraid to me. Either way....I can't wrap my head around liking Lori.

Even though it seems like everything was the fault of Rick’s group, everyone on that farm would be dead without them. They were already busting fences down to get at their cattle, as more walkers migrated out of Atlanta; and then that creek that they were getting stuck in was drying up for the winter. That was part of what was saving them too. A herd was coming either way!

I honestly bet even dale, out of all people, would’ve understood why Rick killed Shane. He SAW him with his own eyes pointing a rifle at the back of his head… it felt like I was in the twilight zone watching everyone go against Rick for that. I understand being upset cuz he didn’t tell them about them all being infected, cuz that could’ve cost someone their life. It is crazy to me that knowing Shane for what he was, the group still responded the way they did, especially the women. They had no problem at all leaving Randall's fate up to Rick, but Rick saying he had to take care of Shane because he tried to kill him was wrong in their eyes? Crazy. At this point Rick is the only one thinking clearly. I have disliked Lori from the beginning, but this episode was the final nail in that coffin. I am done with her. She is a terrible wife and mother and I feel sorry for the new baby. Good thing there are other women in the group that can be there to help with Carl and the baby, because Lori is useless. Keep her on laundry duty because that is all she is good for. I am so looking forward to season 3 with y'all. God Bless!

Yeah, I can't stand Lori. She whispers in his ear basically telling him he needs to kill Shane then gets pissed when he does it OUT OF SELF DEFENCE. That is SERIOUSLY messed up. She doesn't watch her son (although I do believe she truly loves him) when they are in a zombie apocalypse. Even if she were busy around camp you'd think after he got shot she'd watch him better. There were times where she seemed to TRY to be supportive to Rick and defended him to the others, but she also kept stirring up drama, leading Shane on, and got with Shane way to soon after the zombie outbreak happened. She's somin else.

I think the farm would’ve been overrun eventually bc there were no sturdy barriers and a bunch of cattle/ horses & chickens. Plus Hershel, Jimmy or Otis would’ve been bitten trynna handle walkers all the time - it would’ve led them to their downfall guaranteed.

I disagree. This was not Rick's group fault. Eventually a herd of Zombies or a bad crowd would have found them. The boy they couldn't decide to kill knew Maggie and about the farm. Hershel and their family would have been ill prepared for either of two. They thought Zombies were still people. They weren't aware of state of world's lack of humanity. There is strength numbers and although there was a learning curve with everything that went on the farm. They wouldn't have survived without Rick's group.

I believe Lori was more upset that Carl had to put Shane down & Rick allowed it. She wants Carl to be a little boy, but he needs to grow up. I had to ask TWD comic readers about the character who saved Andrea. For me, it's the greatest character introduction in TV history. As much as I love Ashoka's jump from cartoon to live-action intro, this still rocks as a character intro. Season 3 couldn't come fast enough.
