* This title of the episode, "Sick", references a comment made by Oscar after seeing dead his fellow inmates. * The episode's exact runtime is 00:43:11. * This was the first episode to air on Dish Network following their agreement with AMC Networks * Scott Wilson (Hershel) often fell asleep while shooting the scenes where Hershel is unconscious. * When Rick informs the prisoners about the apocalypse and how all societal structure has collapsed, what Rick says is very similar to what Mark and Selena tell Jim in the 2002 movie, 28 Days Later. * There were thirty confirmed walker kills in the episode and two living humans. Rick and Tomas both tied with the most kills at five walkers and one living human. * Just after Andrew's screams stop, there's noise suggesting that he managed to climb the fence despite the barbed wire on top. | * When Rick and his group are returning Hershel back to the cell blocks, Rick orders Daryl to kill a walker blocking their way in the hallway. Daryl kills the walker with an arrow from his crossbow and as he moves past the walker, he pulls the arrow he fired out of its head, however, Daryl is holding the tail end of the arrow instead of the front-end after he pulled his arrow out which is logically wrong. * When Carol kills the female walker with the metal pipe. There is blood on the pipe where she stabs it, but when it's removed and she tells Glenn to distract the other walkers. The metal pipe has no blood on it at all.

Ever since I watched this show the first time I didn't really get what the turning point in Rick & Lori's relationship was. Last season, before Rick told her about killing Shane she was still supportive even after he told her and was hugging him and saying you did what you gotta do and stuff, but after he said Carl put him down she switched gears, and she's been upset ever since? What happened? I didn't really get why she seemed to be super upset by carl putting him down, I mean shit that sucks, but YOU were the one supposed to be watching him. Maybe she was shocked and didn't want him to console her at that moment but you would think she would come around after a day or two. Can anyone enlighten me?

I’m glad these episodes have shown a bit of Loris thoughts. She is not my favorite, but I really believe she feels horrible for how things turned out & how she reacted towards Rick. But she does have to let Rick come to her at this point, he has so many responsibilities thats his marriage just can’t be high on the list atm. & ricks mentality switch is def the “no second chances” because he had to suffer the consequences in the past. And yet he’s still trying to navigate how this world works. One of my favorite Rick arcs imo.

I think the "killer" conversation in this moment links to her set up comment of him not having malice in his heart. Meaning the "killer" would seek enjoyment out of harming another. Would find pleasure in the act of murder. Killing out of survival and as a second resort without malice is what that conversation alludes to. Of course Rick has killed and the act made him a killer, but he himself is not what you would term in fiction (or even real life) as Killer with a capital K. Like for example there is a distinct difference between Ted Bundy being a killer and person fighting off an attacker that ends in the attackers death. Y'all are right about the face value definition of killer regarding Rick and the crew, but I would say he isn't at this stage a Killer in the way Lori set it up.
