I love that Adison immediately made the connection between Carol teaching the kids how to protect themselves and her trauma from losing Sofia. I REEAAALLLYYY love Glenn and Maggie as a couple. That scene between them towards the end of the episode is one of my favorites from them, and what they said; "I don't want to be afraid of being alive." "Being afraid is what has kept us alive." "No, it's how we kept breathing" That hit HARD!!!

This is the season where they start pussifying all the guys and making the women the men lol Maggie reassuring Glen "it's gonna be ok baby"..... All the things we've taken in have given us one disease or another. In fact, I used to work for a professor who studied how the human lifespan and health has changed over time by studying our bones. She found that our health, in general, got much much worse compared to our stone age ancestors who lived lives free from the animals who give us so many diseases. Also, y'all will probably notice it sooner or later but as the show goes on the zombies get more and more gross because the show runners wanted to make it realistic how the zombies become more rotted as time passes. i’m not mad at carol for teaching that class at all. she’s purposefully having the youngest of the group keep watch(we can tell because he asks her ‘should i’ as if he’s the one who does it everytime)- presumably because he’s too young and handling a knife could be dangerous. the rest of them, however, are about the age carl was when he learned to shoot. granted, carl took that a bit too far, but that was more about his mindset and the example rick was showing. we have further confirmation of this in this episode, where rick doesn’t want to carry his gun because he’s trying to be a better example for carl. from carol’s perspective, these are children the same age sophia was when she died, alone in the woods and unable to protect herself. if these children can learn how to safely and respectfully handle weapons if needed, it could save their lives, and on a more personal level, help ease carol’s conscience about not teaching her own daughter to fight. not only that, but we get confirmation in this episode that these kids see the walkers as something akin to pets or toys, giving them names and playing around them. they aren’t afraid of the walkers, and they should be- they can’t let the fear run their lives, but no fear will absolutely lead them into dangerous situations. carol’s class, in my eyes, seeks to mitigate both their inability to protect themselves and their ignorance to the actual nature of the walkers due to their age and inexperience.

Something I've not understood re walkers and the fence. We got a whole crew with "end walkers" jobs! After the headshots or stabs and the walkers dropping - wouldn't the bodies pile up and prevent other walkers from walking right up to the fence? Where are the piles?
