2025-04-22 22:22:04 +0000 UTCBack then there was only Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christianity. Protestantism (Baptist, Methodist, etc.) doesn’t come for hundreds of years. A big component of this show is the clash between Christianity and the old Norse religion. We know which eventually wins.

2025-04-22 01:07:37 +0000 UTCYou’ll start to notice that time goes by really quickly in this show. You’ll have to pay attention to the dialogue and the outside shots. For example, in this episode, they showed a few months had passed through the fact that it was now snowing - ie. it’s full on winter. Vikings very much lived their lives around the seasons - raid in the summer to prep for winter. Because of this, most of the at home politics happen during winter.

One of yall might have to step it up for these reactions - Von was really vibin with the show 😭😭. All I can say is that please remember that this is very much a story based on real history - especially the way the religious views shifted and changed. Keep an open mind and hopefully yall will be on some of the Vikings’ sides at some point - though you might not due to your own religious beliefs which is okay too 🤷🏾♀️
