100% agree. We even had Aviendha telling her and us that she has no obligation to the Car'a'carn earlier in the episode. And there is nothing wrong with being ambitious or wanting more than you initially thought was possible for yourself. Both Egwene and Rand's worlds are opening up, and in all likelihood they won't have the same room for each other going forward. And Rand clearly needs to be checked. He's basically ingesting evil poison on the regular and it will degrade his mind. Everyone is just hoping that it happens slowly enough that he makes it to the Last Battle.

They just trusted Alviarin. She has sway in the Tower 😉 and now she’s the Speaker. Second only to the Amyrlin. Elaida and Alviarin are NOT the people you want in charge.

2025-04-20 11:08:47 +0000 UTCThat last scene had nothing to do with Egwene wanting power / attention. Or trying to keep Rand down in that sense. And her “dream” about Rand going mad (which is inevitable based on the rules of this universe) was a fear that included anxiety. Ofc she has ambitions & if she fulfills her destiny, she & Rand will cross paths again. Telling Rand to “let go” has more to do with her trying to keep him grounded. Trying to prevent him from being swallowed up & going mad before they get to the Last Battle. Did you not see how progressively his channeling holds more darkness than light? He has to be careful.
