Him looking at the barn then burning himself with the cigarette to me felt like he was reminded of Beth from the barn and he punished and burned himself (like his father probably did) for letting Beth die regardless of if it was actually his fault or not. She gave him hope when there was none and now she’s gone and there is again no hope so he just broke for a bit. When the storm began their only hope was the barn in order to survive the storm and once ended a new face appeared. I would argue it’s one of the most real scenes with Daryl in the series.

The scene of the group one by one going to help daryl holding the door was one big metaphor about them keeping the walkers away TOGETHER - and also the darkness that comes from that fight. If you noticed the 3 struggling the most this episode (Daryl, Maggie, Sasha) were the first 3 going to support each other with the door. Great writing

2025-06-18 00:23:09 +0000 UTCMaggie ,Sasha and Daryl broke my heart in this episode they're so hurt and I kept saying that they need to talk to each other because Glenn tried to talk to Maggie it didn't really work Abraham tried to talk to Sasha it didn't work even Gabriel try to talk to Maggie that really didn't go well but when they started talking to each other that's when I said they can start to heal a little bit because those three really new what the other one was feeling I feel so bad for the group they lost so much losing your loved ones or not easy it's really really hard to get over Andrea even though I couldn't stand her once said to Beth you never really get over it you just make room for it and I guess that's true you do even in real life I was crushed when my mother passed I really didn't know I was going to make it through that but I had my sisters and we made room for the pain and that's what Maggie Sasha and Daryl has to do for each other sometime this show can really be emotional make you think about certain things in your life when Maggie was telling Glenn she didn't think she wanted to go on Noah saying that he don't think he can make it. It's just sad. Them walking down that road hungry thirsty and tired man they were all so defeated I'm sorry I'm babbling anyway thanks for the episode guys I hope you guys do the next one soon ❤️

I love when they were holding the barn door together. That’s family right there! Daryl, Maggie and Sasha just going through. I love the scene when the rain started and everyone felt better in the moment except those three. They still have a ways to go. Great shots throughout this episode, especially when that big group of walkers was walking right behind them. Talk about exhausted.
