Akane is notoriously inept in the water, sometimes having to rely on a float to keep her head above the waves. Oh, the shame!
Ranma, on the other hand, has NO SHAME and can't resist prodding- make that fingering- his Sitting Duck of a fiancee! Time to sink or swim, Akane!
Harsh training methods, perhaps, but consider Ranma's own teacher and father was known to throw Ranma into a pit of cats to toughen him up. Tough love is the only love Ranma knows... and at least in this instance, we love it too! ;)
