[A Stars episode, a collab episode with PizzaDadComic and some glam shots of Cut the Deck]
Thank you to everyone who responded to my post about needing some support earlier in the week - I really appreciate that people looked around for some work for me to do. The Swords Patreon got a bit of a support boost and it was also the biggest day of Ko-Fi sales in a long time, which put a bit more wind in my sails. I got some really lovely emails too. Thank you so much.
Life Updates
I am looking for work. My experience includes being a webcomic artist and seven years of Quality Assurance for video games. If you think something would be a good fit for me, please let me know. Feel free to reach out to me at swordscomic@gmail.com or share my portfolio https://mjwills.com
Obviously I'd love to just work on Swords, but I have things I promised to do and I can't take on any more side projects to make ends meet. I do want to be back to regular Swords episodes by November 28th at the latest.
I am open to small collabs with other webcomic artists though! Because they don't take very long! Let's make some things!
Most of Sticker Club is sent now - just a handful of Royal tier backers need a Royal treatment. If you haven't filled in the Q4 form for Swords Sticker Club, please do so here - I still have a dozen Christmas Cards if anyone decides to upgrade too.
Since some people have already received their Sticker Club, I'd like to request that you don't reveal what the Christmas Card looks like on social media until closer to Christmas - I'd love for some of the contents to be a surprise for anyone waiting until the day to open it. Thanks!
Patreon lets you gift memberships now, so you can just buy someone else a year of Sticker Club if you feel like it! Thank you!
I used this feature to gift a few people a free 1 month membership, so please enjoy everything in the Collections tab and maybe hit that Like button so it looks busy in there? Haha
I've been wearing too many hats lately...
I am also snacking way too much this week! I fell off the wagon hard! Someone really needs to bribe me to stay on task.
Speaking of tasks, I finished watching Taskmaster UK, and I'm still keeping current with Taskmaster AU S3 and Bleach.
I would really like to play Twinsen's Quest (I was a huge fanboy of Twinsen's Odyssey growing up), but I've got a lot going on. Just... y'know... putting that out there before Christmas day...
Social Updates
BlueSky passed 12.7k followers, up from 9.6k last Sunday!
Twitter has lost 1.1k followers, which is cray-cray. Feels like the end of an era.
The webcomic platform Fables have launched their Treasure Hunt! Head to Fables, read the series listed and you have a chance to win $500 by finding their mascot hidden amongst the pages of Swords (and more). I'll give you guys an exclusive hint - mine is hidden in a very purple episode.
Caffeinated Dragon have opened their new store on Manners Street in Wellington. And you can buy Swords merch at the counter! Maybe it's time to do your Secret Santa shopping?
Product Updates
We did a big update for Cut the Deck, which wasn't all good news, I'm afraid! I've had some people reach out, concerned that people are being mean to us in the comments, but let me assure you - we changed things to make a vocal minority happy, and a newly affected group deserve to be annoyed that we made those changes in the 11th hour. Nobody is being a hater and we all want the same thing - a good launch and a fun game. We're currently working on a solution or two to make more people happy.
Quest Sprout zines are now shipping - I have packed about 125 of 220 orders and visited the post office about 6 times. They've been very nice about it.
My Black Friday sale on Ko-Fi is continuing for a few more hours
Threadless and TeePublic both have a sale on
A new Makeship launches in... 11 days... Who could it be?
I think that's about everything happening right now? I've just been in my office, stuffing envelopes, cutting paper, ordering more envelopes from a specialty supplier, folding paper, sticking stickers in envelopes, sticking other stickers on the envelopes filled with stickers... And so on and so on. November continues!
