ETC: Caragh Savage

On Friday 23rd September I interview Caragh Savage about her work, meandering through topics of portraiture, the malleability joy of charcoal and the intersections of sculpture and drawing. You can watch the talk above and you can follow Caragh  on Instagram right HERE

Caragh will be teaching a weekend course at the main Draw studio in Brighton this weekend (1st & 2nd October). We have two places left on the course, so if you'd like to come along you can find details HERE. If you want details of future courses Caragh will be teaching just pop me a message on info@draw-brighton.co.uk!

Past ETC Talks

We have a whole series of 1-hour ETC talks on our YouTube Channel HERE, from our Art/Work series where we explored the working lives and career progressions of 5 very different artists to our broader ETC series of artist interviews. These talks are great if you are looking for a little inspiration, need to hear more about how other artists have navigated a career in the artist or if you want something to listen to while you draw! You can find links below - I've added a few extra notes on the themes to help you pick between them.

Most fascinating artist talking about her drawing process and how our thinking can and does move through drawing: only reading John Berger I think I ever had such a sense of the density and richness of thought contained in the act of drawing. Unmissable. Breathtaking. Thank you.

Fantastic interview. So inspiring to hear Caragh talk about her MA study and to see how her exploration of subject and materials developed…makes me want to go back to uni myself! Fascinating…thank you!
