Experimental life drawing replay: Water-soluble graphite

Here is the recording of our second online experimental life drawing session, led by artist and host of Portrait Club, Emma Prothero. This replay was recorded at the live online class and contains all the info you need to take part in this one-off session focusing on using water-soluble graphite in a life drawing. It relates to our autumn 'Graphite' materials theme, which you can read more about HERE - next month we're shifting our focus to oil paint! Materials you’ll need

• Plenty of white or cream watercolour paper or heavy cartridge paper of your preferred size

• Water-soluble graphite pencils (bring a range if you have them! Most water soluble pencils have a brush, or water droplet symbol on the side) 

• Any other water-soluble graphite mediums you may have, such as graphite powder, sticks, blocks, or putty that are sold as 'water-soluble'

• Paintbrushes of various sizes and types (please bring at-least one synthetic brush)

• One or more of the following: loo roll, paper towels, cotton balls, buds or pads and/or a sponge

• A palette or pots to hold water 

• A spray bottle (optional)

• A sharpening block, fine-grain sandpaper, or a nail file (optional)

• A craft knife (optional)

• A palette or pot to hold dry medium (optional)
