In this artist's talk, recorded from a live Zoom on the 6th December 2024, I spoke to artist Sena Adjovi about the role that drawing plays in her work. This talk is the last in our Autumn 'Graphite' term, where we focus on a different artist who works in graphite each month.
About
Sena Adjovi is a French / West African visual artist based in Montreal, Canada. She uses graphite and oil paint to create soft portraits bathed in gloomy or comforting atmospheres, evoking disturbed emotions or delicate feelings. In her work words, her work explores themes of alienation, loneliness, vulnerability, hope and stillness.
