Clover's relationship with his own body has always amounted to "I feel strange," "it hurts," or "amongst humans I am a shambling and wretched thing." Any brush with the more "mortal" aspects of himself was alarming and shoved away. Allowing Halsin to reach into this part of Clover and nurture it in a way that he never had before is just as important and healing as any other aspect of their love.
