Some cruel soul decided to drop that bomb in my inbox, and it reminded me of an old comic I did where Astarion woke up from a nightmare and went immediately looking to see if DU drow was still alive while sleeping next to him. In that older comic a few people asked what he had dreamed about - and since this so perfectly answers that question I figured I would revisit the concept in its honor, LOL.

Also I'm just not such a huge fan of the way that other comic looks anymore, this is a lot better!

I really liked how this anon framed the event, with Astarion fleeting between practicality, detachment, humor and grief. I understand the desire to see the vamp showing complete and unadulterated emotional vulnerability, but the guy has centuries of disposable "lovers" behind him - partners that came after Cazador would be a little different, of course, but I imagine they would still light up similar parts of his brain, if that makes sense. I went a little more into that here if anyone is interested in my ramblings wrt how Astarion views partners and intimacy.
