Perking up Sammy's life
Added 2022-07-31 17:23:57 +0000 UTCBefore I get to working on the list of bugs some of the new features have caused, I wanted to get in the final one before that. Perks.
There are some that everyone is already familiar with such as whore, slut, broken, preg_want and the like. This puts them all into a nice little menu in the diary to easily see.
But it also gives me the chance to add in some more varied ones. For example in the image here, Sammy has the bimbo perk. This is a bit of an extreme one for testing and a bit of fun. Sammy has a permanent buff to mood and confidence and cannot get fat/drop below 20 fitness. The downside is that she has a huge debuff to gaining intelligence and can never go above 40 int as well as getting a huge mood hit if she is not wearing clothes tagged as slutty.
I am messing with how extreme such things should be. For example should she be restricted to large breasts and/or blonde/pink hair?
There are also a couple of less extreme ones such as nerd which gives a boost to int but malus to fitness. The reverse is true with the gym bunny perk.
Ideas are very welcome on such perks. I am not too concerned with balance and it is entirely about roleplaying. So ideas like the bimbo perk that are on the more extreme side are welcome.
Not much else to share since it's only been a couple of days since I released the build I am working on. But now that I have got the perks in working order, I can get to fixing all the stuff these new features messed with.

A few more perks I've come up with since last time: Masochist: Effectively a softer version of Broken. Sammy gets turned on from being hurt (at least in situations where she accepts the possibility of getting hurt), and can engage in sexual interactions otherwise available only to Broken Sammy, though only in consensual encounters. (She still won't tolerate being raped.) She also won't have a cap on Confidence. Strong Willed: Loses confidence at a slower rate, passes Willpower checks more easily, and can recover from trauma faster. Note that in my image, if Sammy ever becomes Broken, the above two traits are lost permanently. Kind to a Fault: Large boosts to mood and confidence when helping others. Large losses if she can't/won't. (The poor man in the park who asks for money is an example of a situation that would be affected by this perk.) Can't Swim: Exactly what it says on the tin. Sammy doesn't know how to swim if she has this perk. Mostly a challenge trait. Would affect school (Her first swim class would have a unique event where she ends up doing that typical panicked flailing in the water when another student pushes her in. And leads to her cursing Tucker for signing her up for a swim class without checking whether or not she can swim) and the Beach (options available to Sammy would be more limited). I'll let you decide whether it should be possible for Sammy to be able to get swimming lessons in order to overcome this.

2022-08-16 03:50:19 +0000 UTCI would say that sex-manic and sex-crazed could be options with one being that Sammy will more actively look for sex and the other being that she'll not bother to ask for payment before hand, leading to a chance that she won't get paid afterwards either, or get paid less. They could also cause her to have a minimum desire level and not ask for additional payment when a handjob/blowjob customer asks to have sex. You could also have Rough sleeper, where if Sammy has slept outside enough she gets better at knowing where to sleep, which could combine with other perks to have her sleep in places more likely to result in activity or less likely to result in activity. You might also want to look at firming up the effects of some perks so that players don't have options when perks that are geared towards things not happening are present, such as pregnancy aversion. Having played the test version I find I'm liking how when you start a new game you get a random selection of perks, it might be nice if there was a 3rd new game option where you can pick an origin story with a set 'load out' of perks to start with.
