The Cursed Lineage: The Royal Family II (TG-empress)

Chaos' second monthly commission for September 2024

After some time in the garden playing with the twins, chatting with each other, and eating lunch, the babies started to get fussy, so Evelyn picked them up and told them it was time to put them down for their nap.

So while she took them back to the castle and up to their nursery to put them down, the rest of them packed up the picnic gear and followed behind her. Once they were inside, they each changed into something else.

Evie was happy they still had dresses long and large enough to cover herself up, though she’d gotten used to the special Fenlius clothing she’d been wearing, it was nice to wear something that breathed a bit more.

Once everyone was dressed and the babies were in their cribs, Evie found her mother standing by Eliana’s bedroom door. Evie walked over to comfort her, and the two started reminiscing about their time with her.

Some time later Heli and Victoria appeared and they began to discuss the coded book. Heli pulled out a book and handed it to Evie. Evie grabs it and looks at its cover. It was a book of the Felinus royal family going back nearly a thousand years, excluding the last decade or two.

Evie opened it up and started from the newest entry, which was the corrupt king Delutus that Evie had defeated and claimed his throne. Next to his name was the brother he banished, Helidoes, who Evie’s father claims to be named after.

Evie continues to flip through the book while Heli looks over her shoulder looking for the name hoping it was inside and that he just missed it. While they did that, Evelyn decided to pull Victoria into Eliana’s room and towards her closet.

She told Victoria that there were some dresses inside that should fit her and that she would look great in them. Evelyn started pulling dresses out and pressing them against Victoria and asking her if she liked them.

While all of them were busy, the babies were in the next room, and neither was lying in a crib, and neither were sleeping. Both babies had managed to unlatch the sides and lower the bars. Then they climbed out and crawled across the room.

Elizabeth went right for the pair of dolls that Heli and Evelyn had made to look just like them, and she began to play with them. Eleanora went over to the short bin of balls, got a really big bouncy ball, and started to push it around.

The two then began to happily play under the guise of napping, all while making sure not to make too much noise and alert their parents. Outside in the hallway, Evie and Heli were halfway through the book but stopped for a minute to walk into the room to check on Victoria and Evelyn.

Victoria was by a mirror wearing one of Eliana’s poofiest and hardest-to-get-on dresses, all while Evelyn complimented her over and over. Victoria was used to clothes like these, but not wearing them, so she shot Evie a look saying she needed help.

Evie got the message and handed the book back to her father, then ran over to save her wife. She told her mother that as much as Victoria would appreciate the dresses, Eliana would likely want them once they broke the curse.

Evelyn looked sad for a moment. She said she hoped more than anything that Evie would find a way to break it, and she truly believed in her, as she was smart and tough enough to do so, she just worried about how long it would take.

They had a long time to go before the twins reached the age where the curse would affect them, or at least she hoped so, the curse does seem to get more wild and unstable with each generation, either way, she really didn’t want it to take another one of her children.

She then said it might even be worse if it only affects one of them. They’re twins after all, they’re going to grow up closer to each other than likely anyone else, Evelyn knew that if only one made it through it would devastate the other, more than it would the rest of them.

They all shared those same concerns, but Evie assured her mother that she’d stop at nothing to break this curse, to save her sisters, her cousins, aunts, and even her own kids she may one day end up having.

Evelyn’s demeanor changed as soon as she said that. She ran up to Evie and said she couldn't wait until they made a baby. She said she was going to be the best grandma ever and spoil them a lot. Evie and Victoria chuckled.

After that, Heli and Evelyn went back into the hallway so Victoria could change back into her lighter, not nearly as poofy of a dress. While they did that, Heli had Evelyn look at the book with him and see if she could find any new clues.

While they were focused on those things, the twins were still in their room acting and playing like toddlers, not the babies they were supposed to be. Elizabeth had every doll they had out, along with a fancy horse carriage and a small castle for the dolls to go inside.

Eleanora on the other hand still had her same ball, but now she had several towers of blocks set up to throw her ball at. Once she had them all perfect, she lifted the ball above her head, then she threw it toward the blocks as hard as she could.

The ball flew across the room and hit the blocks dead on, sending them flying everywhere, including toward her sister minding her own business with her dolls. Eleanora saw it going toward her sister and knew it was bad, she didn’t want to see her hurt.

She didn’t know what to do, so she closed her hands and clenched her hands, and after a moment when she didn’t hear anything fall, she opened her eyes. That’s when she saw something very strange, all the blocks were floating.

One had stopped right in front of Elizabeth's face who had noticed it coming towards her and had a look of fear in her eyes. Even though the block hadn’t hit her, she was still scared, and being that she’s still a baby she started crying and screaming.

Her big sisters and parents were just down the hall, so they all heard her loud screaming and came running to check on them. None of them expected to see toy blocks floating around the room. They all noticed Elizabeth was the one crying, while Eleanora was just looking up at one of the blocks.

Evelyn ran over to Elizabeth since she was the one crying. Evie went over and stood next to Eleanora and looked at the floating blocks with her, but as soon as Eleanora saw her, her focus switched to her big sis and not the blocks.

That caused all the blocks to fall to the ground, except the one that Eleanora had been watching, that one came down and hit her on the head, causing her to start crying and yelling as well, so Evie picked her up and started trying to soothe her.

Evie turned around to see her father with the biggest look of shock, if his jaw went any lower it would pop off. Once both of the twins were calmed and asleep in the arms of the people holding them, the group began to talk about what happened.

They weren't sure what was going on, whether there was some spirit that did that, an invisible mage, or what seemed to be the most likely answer, Eleanora. Evie was really confused about how that was possible.

She was a baby, and their family didn’t have a history of having an affinity for magic, and the curse didn't seem to have activated, yet the blocks in the room were still floating. It was so bizarre, and since they were so young, it wasn’t looking like they’d know for sure.

As everyone consoled the babies to make them feel better Heli was looking around the room. There were toys everywhere like they were in here playing. He then noticed the crib gate was down. What he didn't notice was the presence of a spirit or person that wasn’t still in the room.

He looked down at his girls. He’s had a few kids before, but none of them were this advanced at less than a couple of months old. Perhaps it was a side effect of the quick pregnancy or maybe they were born gifted, blessed by the gods to one day help save their family.

Either way, one thing was certain to him, they were special. He patted each one on the head and told him it would be alright, there was nothing to fear, as Papa was going to keep them safe. The twins started smiling and laughing, which got the rest of them to join in.

You are right about that. C:

Yeah, it's stupid, but I can't do anything about it.

Riley

It's a very cute addition to this story, and I wonder what will happen next for them all?

Chaos

I will never understand this system... Deviantart doesn't block MUCH darker content... trust me I once looked into its depths...

hmmm a very unusual story... after all magic can give this family a lot but it can also influence a lot so I'm not sure whether it's for good or for bad but one thing I can say for sure is that it will still play a role in the future!

I wanted to do an image with the twins, but Deviantart has been removing stories with images like that. They don't even read them or allow me to appeal it.
