“Dear Raven, as asked I’m once again writing in your diary. I guess I’ll talk about my first full day as you… And to be honest it was awful… I’ve never had such a hard and miserable day.” I continued writing while thinking about the events of the day.
When I woke up I went to the bathroom and was met by the maids again. They helped remove the nightgown I was wearing and tried to get me into a frilly pink dress. I refused to wear it, not only because I knew Raven would never wear it, but because I’d rather wear black instead of pink.
The maids looked annoyed, and one of them called me a brat under her breath, but they got me a black dress to wear, one that was thankfully not poofy like the one I was in yesterday. After I was dressed and used the bathroom, I went down to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
On my way down I met Raven's mother as she was on her way out to work. She looked at me, then down at the dress, and scoffed. She then left without saying a word, but that look on her face is something I’ll never forget.
She was disgusted, which is an awful thing for a mother. Despite her not being my mother, I felt bothered by it. No child deserves to be treated like that by someone who’s supposed to love them unconditionally.
I made my way into the kitchen where Raven’s father was reading a newspaper and drinking coffee. He didn’t say anything or even look away from his paper as I sat down, and I couldn't bring myself to speak to him, especially knowing he thought I was a peasant in his daughter's body.
So I waited to eat breakfast. The chef came over with a plate of eggs, and though it was basic, they still seemed like the fanciest eggs I’ve ever seen, and I have to admit they were the best tasting as well.
As I was eating, Raven's father looked at his watch and got up, then he left the house presumably to go to work. As soon as he was gone, the chief came over and took my plate of eggs, which I hadn't even gotten halfway through.
I asked him what he was doing, and he told me that the master had left, which meant he was cleaning and getting ready to prepare his dinner. I got into an argument with him about taking my food, and he called me a brat and ignored me.
I ended up giving up and decided to ask him if he had lunch for me to take to school, and his response was that he didn’t get paid to do that. So I tried to open the fridge and make myself something, which pissed him off.
He then slammed the fridge closed and looked at it. He smirked at me as I gave up and left to go to school. The walk to school was the first peaceful moment I had other than sleeping after becoming Raven.
The birds were so lively and the flowers on the way to school from your house were quite nice. I really enjoyed getting to see them, but of course, as soon as I made it to school, my good mood was ruined by Raven’s bullies.
The group of girls surrounded me and started pushing me around, making fun of my hair and dress, all while calling me a freak trying to get someone's attention. I didn’t know what to do, I was smaller than them so I couldn't fight back, and I was too nervous to tell them off.
So I just took it, and it only stopped when the first bell rang. Once they ran inside I made my way to Raven’s locker and used the notebook to know the code. Once my stuff was in, I started walking to her first class. That’s when I saw myself, or more accurately Raven in my body.
She seemed happy. She was with my friends and all of them were joking around like we normally did. They knew that I had swapped classes and that the person inside my body wasn't likely me, but they were still treating her like their friends.
Which made me smile, as she needed that, she deserved it with everything she goes through. I mean I’ve only been here for a day, and I’m on the verge of giving up, I don't know how she has the strength to do this every day.
I was planning to speak with her, but since she was having fun, I didn’t want to ruin the moment for her or let on that it was us that swapped, as it might have made the rest of her time as me slightly awkward.
So I just went off to class and then the rest of the day, trying my best to keep to myself, but I should have expected that I wouldn't be able to do that. During free period, Raven’s bullies found me and grabbed me.
I was dragged against my will to the girl's locker room, two of them held me down while the third turned the shower on and drenched me in cold water. They made sure every inch of my body was soaked before they let me go.
They then laughed, took some pictures, and then ran off, leaving me to deal with the aftermath. I picked myself up and went over to the lockers to try and find a towel, but I slipped by a locker and fell down onto my butt.
I then started crying… but not for long. I picked myself up, found some towels, and did the best I could to dry up before lunch, but I was still completely soaked. Raven in my body was nowhere to be seen at lunch, so I suspect my friends took her out to eat.
I on the other hand sat alone, soaked, and with a pack of nuts since that was the only thing the cafeteria had for me to be able to eat, well for Raven to actually eat. The rest of the day went by without much problem.
Though, people would stare at me as I walked by, and many people noticed I was wet, and some made jokes about it. I think the bullies had cheer practice today, which is why I didn’t see them when I left, even though I expected to, I’ll probably see them tomorrow.
Then I made my way home like I did the day before. “So that was how school was, but I have to tell you now I may have poked the bear when it comes to your dad, and by that I mean I got into a fight with him…”
I stopped writing for a moment and thought about how dinner went. It was just me and Raven’s dad since her mother was out for business. He was ignoring me, and I was once again eating a plain salad for dinner, which sucked as I was starving.
At some point, he said something to me, but I was lost in thought so I didn’t answer, which made him mad. He smacked the table and told me that while I’m not his actual daughter, while in his house and his daughter's body, I’ll answer him when he speaks.
After the day I had, the real me finally slipped out and I stood up and smacked the table. I told him to shove it, and that even if I did listen, he likely didn’t have anything worth hearing. I then picked up my plate and started leaving the kitchen.
He yelled at me and asked what I thought I was doing. I stopped but didn’t look at him. I told him that it was clear he was disappointed in Raven, but it was him that was disappointing, and because of that, I didn’t find him worth having dinner with.
I then told him he could pick up my plate from the front lawn after I tossed it out the window, then joked that it shouldn't be a problem since what was on my plate was basically things found on the front lawn.
“He didn’t say anything, and I didn’t actually throw the plate out the window. I left it outside my door for the maids to pick up, but I should have thrown it… You should have thrown it… You shouldn’t be treated like this.”
