It was the Christmas season, and Christmas day was right around the corner. Melody was in her bathroom doing her morning routine of brushing her hair and applying a bit of makeup, something that had become so normal she nearly forgot she only started doing it six months ago.

Six months, Melody thought to herself. It almost felt like a lifetime ago that they were on the beach and she was turned into a girl. Then they decided to try it out for a year and that’s when everything really changed.

Melody became a girl in the eyes of the world, and her whole life changed to match. She started going to school in a girl's uniform, she even had hobbies like sewing. Then there was that amazing dinner where they met Alexander.

Speaking of which, since the kiss, he’s somehow managed to creep into Melody’s head from time to time. Which Melody thought was crazy, she knew without a doubt that she loved Nadine more than anything and anyone, yet she still found herself thinking about him.

Sometimes even fantasizing a bit, which can't be right. Melody likes girls, she always has even when she was a boy. There was no way she was actually into them right? She held her heart, a woman's heart was such a strange thing, and even if she was one now, she still barely understood it.

Melody opened her eyes and looked in the mirror. She noticed how girly and cute she looked and got embarrassed. She shook her head, slapped her cheeks, and told herself that all of that was too confusing to think about right now.

Melody finishes her makeup and hair, then gets into her school uniform and heads out. When she arrived Nadine and their friends Hope and Stefanie were waiting for her because they had something exciting to show her.

They hand a flyer to Melody and she takes it and looks it over. It seemed the Christmas ball was coming up soon, which meant all the boys were asking girls to go with them and all the girls were going shopping for the prettiest dresses.

Melody said that was cool and then looked away from the flyer to find Nadine holding a sign asking Melody to go with her. Melody turned bright red because she’d never been asked out like this before, and was usually the one to do something like this.

Melody obviously accepted and thought that was all to it, but she managed to forget one crucial detail about this ball compared to others she’d gone to. She was now a girl, which meant she had to go shopping for a dress.

She didn’t realize that even as the rest of them were talking about going shopping together to pick them out. It took Stefanie saying that she couldn't wait to see Melody in her first ball dress. After that Melody realized it and was persuaded to join them.

After school ends the four of them head into town instead of going home. They head to one of the best dress shops in town and begin browsing for dresses. At first, the focus was on ball dresses but then it quickly turned into Hope and Stefanie having a fashion show, which Melody was dragged into.

Everyone took turns picking out dresses to make Melody wear. Hope picked out a short pink dress that looked like a magical girl's transformation dress from an anime. Nadine picked out a long yellow summer dress that Melody found quite comfortable, but it was far from a color she liked to wear.

The last one was from Stefanie. She picked out a very short and tight black dress, the kind you’d wear to a nightclub. Melody was incredibly embarrassed to be wearing something so short and revealing and really didn't want to step out of the changing room.

Her friends assured her she’d look great and got her to come out. Melody stepped out with her face bright red and asked how she looked. Everyone went silent when they saw her. Nadine’s face turned bright red and she covered her face as she turned around.

Hope got Stefanie to lean down so she could whisper in her ear. Stefanie did so and afterward just said was pretty sure they were as well. Hope and Stefanie looked at Nadine and smiled. Nadine turned back around and without saying anything pushed Melody back into the changing room.

Melody asked if it was that bad and Nadine told her she looked great but that wasn't the problem. Melody was confused and asked what was the problem. Nadine could barely speak, her face was so red and it almost looked like she had a nosebleed.

She turned Melody toward the mirror and pointed down. Melody followed her finger and looked at the bottom of the dress she was wearing. She knew it was short, but now she knew how short it was. Melody’s panties were showing.

Melody joined Nadine in being bright red. She grabbed the bottom of her dress and pulled it down. She couldn't believe she just did that. Nadine let out a laugh as she told her it was a bit more embarrassing than that.

Melody turned toward her and what else she had exposed. Nadine laughed at that and assured her it was only the panties, but that was what was worse about it. She wasn’t wearing her own panties, but instead, a pair of Nadine’s that she had accidentally left at Melody’s house.

It was also a pair that both Hope and Stefanie had seen when they went with Nadine to buy them, so both of them knew Melody was wearing Nadine’s underwear. Melody slid to the floor and said she’d never recover from this embarrassment.

Nadine sat down next to her and did her best to comfort her. It ended up working and the two went back to dress shopping. Of course, Hope and Stefanie had to tease Melody a bit more before the day ended.

They did things like offer to lend her a pair of their underwear or even gave her recommendations for new underwear since she clearly didn’t have her own, and most of the suggestions were incredibly girly like pink panties with flowers, or sexy like a black thong.

Nadine even played into a bit by asking which bra and panty set she should buy for them to share. In the end, as embarrassing as it was, Melody had a great time shopping with them and picked out what she called the most beautiful ball gown.

She took it home and pulled it out of the bag. She held it up against herself and started to dance around the room. She was really excited to wear it. She suddenly stopped when she saw herself and the dress in the mirror.

Melody smiled as she had an amazing idea. This dress was great, but she could make it better, perhaps even perfect. She had so many ideas for what she could do, and she thankfully had the skills to make those ideas happen.

Melody takes the dress over to her desk, gets her sewing machine started, and begins to work. Hours go by without her taking a break and she manages to finish changing the dress how she desires.

She went back to the mirror and held it up to herself. Now it was truly perfect, it was a dress every girl wanted, the dress of their dreams, of Melody’s dreams. Satisfied with a job well done, Melody carefully packs it away until it’s time to use it.

After that, she went and hopped onto her bed, as it was nearly morning and now that she was done she suddenly felt exhausted. She didn't even tuck herself in, as soon as she hit the bed she was happily snoozing away, having a nice dream where she was wearing her dress.

Some time passes from then, with Melody and the others happily awaiting the day the ball comes, and before they know it, that day has arrived. Melody was up in her room already in her dress, finishing up her hair when her mother called from downstairs.

Melody went to the stairs and looked down to see Nadine standing there, more beautiful than ever. Nadine’s mouth was open as she was feeling the same way if not even more amazed by Melody’s dress.

Melody comes down the stairs and greets Nadine. Nadine tells Melody that she’s gorgeous and then asks about the dress. Nadine was there when Melody got it, so she already knew Melody had worked on it, and couldn't believe how good she’d gotten at it.

Melody told her a bit about it but was cut off by her mother who wanted to take a picture of them before they went off. Melody and Nadine held each other's arms and smiled. After that, Nadine said they should go so they’re not late. Melody agreed and the two set off for the ball together.
