Should have let her play: Pt17
I made a mistake. My friends asked me what I thought of some dresses, and I said they’d look great on a girl, which was when they all smiled and quickly pushed me into a changing room and tossed the clothes over the door.
They held the door closed and told me I couldn’t come out until I changed into it. It all happened so quickly that I was confused about what was going on, at least until I looked down to find a cute red dress and a pair of leggings on the floor.
They had tricked me and were giving me no choice but to put it on. I picked up the dress and looked at it. I was beyond embarrassed. Here I was basically shopping for girly clothes with my friends when I should have been looking for the person who turned us into girls.
I looked at the door, then at the dress. They weren't going to accept me leaving without it on, and it technically covers more than what I’m wearing, so it shouldn’t be that bad, right? I quickly change into the new clothes. As I stepped out, I was extremely anxious. I looked at my friends, and without thinking, I asked how I looked.

My friends looked at me, then at each other without saying anything. I was starting to feel bad and thinking I looked awful in this dress. I mean, I was a guy; how could I ever think I could look cute in something like this?
As I was getting deeper into despair, they all started to cheer, and I found them all suddenly hugging me and telling me how cute I was. They said this outfit looked so much better on me and that it was totally my style.
They even insisted on buying it for me. I tried to refuse, but they ignored me and dragged me to the counter so the cashier could scan the items I was wearing. Moments later, I was walking out of the store wearing the dress and leggings they got for me.
It was so strange; as I walked out, I was embarrassed, nervous, and felt so out of place, yet in a single instant, my friends took that all away. They made me feel cute, special, and strangely comfortable as myself for the first time since this morning.

After buying this dress, my friends dragged me to several other stores that I’d never been to before. The first was the makeup shop, where the attendants were more than happy to test samples out on us.
After that, we went to the shoe shop, where we tried on a ton of different shoes. Hailey, of course, tried on very high heels; Lea went for the knee-high black boots, and Miley went for whatever was the color pink.
I didn’t really go for anything, but I did try on different things the other girls were trying just to see what they were like. Pink is far from my color, and I couldn’t walk in the heels, but the boots that Lea was trying weren't too bad, though the bottoms were quite heavy.
I’m not sure how she walks around in shoes like that, but she likes them, and they make her happy, which is all that matters. After leaving the shoe store, we were going to get something to eat when someone caught my eye, the girl from the arcade.
I knew I had to go see her. I excuse myself from my friends and say I’ll be right back. I then ran after the girl and ended up following her into the arcade right up to the very game where we had met her the day before.

The girl sat down at one of the racing machines and then turned towards me. She was holding out a quarter. Like before, she offered to pay if I’d play with her. I nodded and sat down next to her. She looked at me and told me my dress was very cute.
I blushed and thanked her, then complimented her outfit. She then put the quarters in and started to race against each other. She completely destroyed me, and I almost thought it was because of how my body changed, but I actually had my fast score.
So it was just that this girl was really good. I really should have given her the chance to play before and perhaps even asked her to teach me some tricks. I turn towards her and see her celebrating her victory.
I smiled and congratulated her. We both stood up, and for the first time, we introduced ourselves. Her name is Odessa, and it turns out she’s a big gamer and nerd, even more than me and my friends had been. We really hit it off, and I got a bit sidetracked chatting with her.

I found myself lost talking with Odessa. She and I loved a lot of the same things, from video games to animes and even making fan art. I was surprised to find out she was so cool; heck, she might even be cooler than I was. That’s when I remembered how I treated her yesterday.
I put my hands together and suddenly apologized to her for that. She looked confused for a moment but then looked shocked. She then asked me if I was one of the guys from yesterday. My heart started to race, mostly with excitement.
She actually remembered us as guys, so that meant she had something to do with us changing. As embarrassing as it was to admit, I told her I was a guy yesterday, and somehow I was a girl today. She then grabbed my hands and said she couldn’t believe her wish had come true.
I was silent for a moment and asked why she wished for us to become girls. She let go of me and blushed. She admitted that was unintentional. She actually wished that we could be more alike so we could be friends.

I let out an awkward laugh. Her wish was so wholesome and honestly wasn’t meant to turn us into girls. In some aspects, it might be my fault this all happened. Had I just been nice to her and let her play with us, we could have all been friends without the need to be turned into girls.
Odessa looked sad and asked if I was mad at her. I sighed and said no; of course I wasn’t. It really wasn’t her fault for wanting friends. I also told her my friends don’t seem to remember being guys, so they weren't mad at her either.
That seemed to make her feel slightly better. I put my hands on my head. I sighed and then said it seemed I was going to be a girl until I could somehow wish to turn back. Odessa apologized to me for that and promised to wish every night to help turn us back.
She said every shooting star, every well, every fountain, whatever it takes, she’ll make wishes until I turn back, and she was very serious. I couldn’t help but smile. I thanked her for that and said she was truly a kind person. One that I wouldn’t mind being friends with. She suddenly went from a serious look to a super happy one.

Odessa asked me if we were really friends now. I nodded and said yeah. She ran up and hugged me and told me she was so happy to finally make a friend. She then let me go and pulled out her phone and then had me get mine so we could share our numbers.
I added her number and name to my phone, and she did the same. She then held her phone against her chest and spun around with a big smile on her face. I chuckled a bit and then looked at my phone. I hadn’t even noticed that the group chat with my other friends had a few messages.
They were all messages asking me where I went. Then asking when I was coming back. Then a message about the girl I was talking to. I turn my head and see Miley, Hailey, and Lea all staring at us through the glass window at the front of the arcade.
I let out a smile and wave at them, then I text them, telling them I’m coming back out now. I was about to say goodbye to Odessa, but then I had another thought. Perhaps she’d enjoy making a few more friends. I asked Odessa to come hang out with us, and I was right; she seemed even happier now.

I introduced Odessa to my other friends, and I shouldn't be surprised that they hit it off and became fast friends. They even invited her out to lunch so we could all learn more about each other, and they learned what I did.
Odessa was super cool and very sweet. It didn’t take long before they all exchanged numbers with her as well and were making plans to hang out again. Again, I noticed she seemed to be really happy, and that rubbed off on everyone, including me.
After hanging around the mall and checking out more stores, the group broke off so everyone could head home. Once I got home, my sister had me shower, which was embarrassing, and then we ate dinner together.
After dinner, I went to my room to relax. I got into pajamas and lay in bed and thought about the day. It sure was a crazy one, waking up with a girl, finding all my friends turned into girls, shopping, and meeting Odessa.
It was unbelievable, yet it was how my day went. I guess I’ll be stuck as a girl for a while, if not forever, but I suppose it’s not all bad. I have amazing friends, my sister seems to like me more, and I’m super cute.
