Due to that, Gielel was quickly thrown to the bottom of the family totem pole and wasn’t invited to important meetings, and often they didn’t bother to invite him to important celebrations. They also stopped wasting good blood on him, so he spent years only feasting on cheap, poor-quality blood.

Over time, Gielel grew to hate his family and how he was tossed to the bottom. So since no one paid attention to him, he began to sneak out at night alone, which was forbidden for vampires who have yet to pass the master vampire test.

It was to avoid them making mistakes, which could let the family's secret out and cause them to be hunted. Gielel knew that and knew he was still a young vampire; after all, at the time he was only nineteen and had been a vampire for less than a year.

He didn’t care, though. He was determined to train and get stronger, and he had to do it alone since no one in the family thought he was worth the time of night. Training was hard for him at first, but eventually he met another vampire who wasn’t a part of his family.

He agreed to train Gielel in exchange for blood. Gielel agreed to that and started to steal extra bottles of blood and blood wine to give to his mentor. After a year, Gielel had gotten stronger and more powerful than even his father, yet no one in his family knew.

Having become a master vampire on his own, it was time for the next part of his plan. To get rid of his family one by one until he was the new head of the family. Over the next few months, Gielel snuck out at night and caught up with his family members who were out on missions.

One by one he’d fight them, and one by one their bodies would drop to the ground without a head attached to them. Eventually there was only one person left, that being the current head of his family, his father.

When he confronted his father and revealed it was him that killed their family, he expected his father to look surprised; instead, he just seemed disappointed. He stood up and told Gielel he was a failure and a disappointment to their family.

He then told Gielel that even if he killed him here, one day, Gielel would get what’s coming to him. Gielel scoffed and said that he doesn’t care. He’ll take over the family and build a great empire, one where he doesn’t need to hide who he is or be shunned for no reason.

The two of them battled and in the end Gielel remained undefeated, with his father's head tightly in his hand as he walked up to his new throne. Gielel sat down, then dropped his father's head and let it roll down the steps until it reached one of the thralls feet.

Gielel looked at the thrall and told him to bring a bottle of the AB0 blood. The thrall nodded and ran off, coming back moments later with a wine bottle and a wine glass. He then opened it and filled the wine glass to give to Gielel.

Gielel put it up to his lips and took a sip. His eyes glowed from the amazing taste of it. AB0 was the greatest treat for a vampire; it was just so disappointing it was so rare, or Gielel would only feast upon it.

As Gielel sipped the wine, he found himself wanting it more and more; in fact, he couldn’t stop drinking it. He grabbed the wine bottle and started to chug it. Gielel felt his body starting to heat up and had no idea what was happening to him, but he needed more of the blood.

So he ordered the thralls to bring it all to him, which they did, and bottle by bottle Gielel consumed them. Each one made Gielel’s body heat up more and more, and at some points it felt like he was changing, but all he could focus on was fueling this craving, this addiction he had for the wine.
