Saturday was forecasted to be a bright, sunny day, so a local cosplay group decided to get a permit from the city to hold a small costume festival, where people could come dressed up in their favorite costumes and LARP, take photos, and overall enjoy the nice day.
Fisher was part of the group so he was excited to go there wearing his Kirito costume, one he had been slowly making himself over the last few months and was dying to show off. So he spent the week leading up to the event putting the finishing touches on it.
When the day came, Fisher met up with his friends Mila and Cherry, who were cosplaying characters from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Mila was Homura and Cherry was Kyoko. Their costumes were incredible and made them look just like the characters.
Fisher asked them where they got it, then asked why neither of them was dressed as Madoka, who was the main character. Mila told Fisher that they bought the costumes for super cheap on a strange website, and they actually ordered three, with Madoka being the third costume.
They then said when they pulled out the costume and showed Fisher, it was a bit too small for them, since they were both slightly taller. Fisher took the costume and pressed it against himself and laughed when he said it was exactly his size.
Mila and Cherry laughed, saying that was quite funny, but then said it was too bad he was a guy or else they’d be able to take some awesome group photos. Fisher looked at the dress again and said he didn’t mind putting it on so they could take photos.
The two girls looked surprised and asked him if that wasn’t embarrassing or emasculating. Fisher shook his head and said no. He didn’t really care about those kinds of things. He didn’t think there was anything wrong with girls, or looking like one, so it shouldn’t matter if he dresses as one.
Not to mention it was just a costume and guys wear girls costumes all the time. It was all for fun, and it wasn’t like he’d have to wear it all day. Mila and Cherry patted him on the head and said they were suddenly reminded why they liked him so much; he was one of the nicest people they knew.
They then all went to one of the park bathrooms, one of those single-toilet ones with a lot of space. They let Fisher go in with the costume, and then once he was in it, they came in and helped him get the wig, accessories, and a bit of makeup on to look just like the character.
After that, they left the bathroom and found a spot to start taking pictures. Eventually they caught the attention of other people who wanted to take photos and videos of them pretending to be the magical girls.
Then other people dressed from the show showed up and joined them. Not too long later they had all the main magical girls, some side characters, and some people dressed as villains in the group. That’s when someone suggests they play out some scenes from the show for those watching.
Mila and Cherry were excited and asked Fisher if he’d be okay with staying dressed as Madoka a little while longer since he was currently the only one in the group. He nodded and said that was fine, but first he needed to get some water, as he was starting to feel a bit strange.
He said goodbye for a minute and went over to the water fountains and started to drink. The water was cool and refreshing, but it didn’t help. Fisher’s body still felt strange and it was almost like it was heating up.
She thought maybe it was something in the costume, so she went into the bathroom next to the water fountain in order to splash cold water on her face. She goes inside and turns the sink on and runs her face under the water.
After a few minutes she started to cool down, so she removed her face and noticed the makeup her friends had put on her was washing off, so she used paper towels to remove the rest. Once she did, she expected to see her normal-looking boy face again.
However, somehow without the makeup on, she still looked a lot like a girl. Fisher then sat there inspecting herself in the mirror. She had never worn a girl's costume before, so she never really realized she looked so feminine.
It was a bit embarrassing but sort of cool. Made her think about trying more female cosplays in the future. Fisher, feeling better, left the bathroom and went to meet back up with her friends. She greeted them and got a strange look from both of them.
They then asked why Fisher was speaking in such a high-pitched voice. Fisher was confused and said she didn’t mean to; she then tried to clear her voice a few times, and when it didn’t change, she said it must have been the water from the fountain.
Mila and Cherry looked at each other, then whispered something but dropped the conversation when the rest of the Madoka Magica cosplayers gathered to start reenacting scenes. Fisher took center stage and began to play her part as the main character.
Luckily she’d seen the show with Mila and Cherry, as those two loved the show and showed it to Fisher, so while she didn’t remember everything, she did remember the important scenes. Scene by scene, person by person, for hours Fisher pretended to be Madoka.
In the end she spent the whole day in what was supposed to be a temporary costume and ended up having a great time. Once the day was over, Fisher was going to go back to the bathroom and change so she could give the costume back to her friends.
However, they suggested she keep it since she was the only one it fit. Fisher asked if they were sure, and they said it made up for her wearing it all day so they could not only have a fun day but also get tons of pictures.
Fisher smiled and agreed to keep it and even went home wearing it. Once home, Fisher went to her closet and pulled out one of her hanger bags that she uses to store costumes. She then took everything off and put it inside the bag.
She then went to remove the wig, but when she pulled on it, it really hurt. She was confused and tried to get her fingers under the wig but couldn’t get it. Fisher tugged on it again, but it felt like it was really stuck on her head.
She then quickly messaged Mila and Cherry, asking them how they put the wig on her head, as she couldn’t seem to get it off. Mila texted back right away and said it should just come off. Cherry then messaged a minute later saying that she only used one pin to hold it in place.
Fisher then felt around her head and found the pin and pulled it out. She then tried to remove the wig again but it still hurt and still didn’t come off. Fisher then went to the bathroom and sat on the sink as she tried to look at her hair in the mirror.
She looked all over but couldn’t find where the wig stopped and where her real hair should be. Fisher then took a picture of her head and sent it to her friends and asked them what she was supposed to do.
Neither answered right away, but after ten minutes Cherry asked why Fisher looked so much like a girl. Fisher was confused and looked at more than just her hair. It was true, she didn’t have the dress on anymore, nor the makeup, yet she still looked like a girl.
She still looked like Madoka, which just shouldn’t be possible. It was almost like she was actually Madoka. Fisher looked into the mirror, then she pressed her legs together and turned bright red. It was true, she was a girl, one who looked like Madoka.
Fisher was concerned about it and texted her friends, telling them what happened. Neither seemed to believe her and thought this was some sort of egg breaking for her and were willing to support her until Fisher called them and sounded really worried.
Mila and Cherry then ran right over to Fisher’s house and came into her bedroom. They both then tried to remove Fisher's wig but got nothing but Fisher yelling in pain from having her hair pulled. Fisher then asked how this was possible.
Mila and Cherry had no clue, and the only thing they knew was it seemed to have something to do with the costume Fisher had put on. Cherry then asked Mila to check the website she bought the costumes from to see if there was anything that explained how this
Mila pulled out her phone and went to the website but then looked confused. Cherry asked what was wrong, and Mila said the site was closed and replaced with a warning from something called the cursed object department.
None of them had any idea what that was, so they clicked on the link and found themselves on an official government page dedicated to the cursed object department. That was where the trio learned all about magically cursed items and pieced together what happened to Fisher.
The costume had to have been one of those cursed objects, one labeled as a Class One, which was the most common type and did minor things like change someone's appearance for gender. Fisher put the phone down and looked at herself.
Mila and Cherry were prepared to comfort her but were surprised when Fisher wasn’t all that upset about suddenly becoming a girl. Fisher said she meant what she said before and really didn’t care if she was a boy or girl, though she was a bit annoyed.
It was going to be a pain to explain, not to mention she’d have to learn about her new body. Even though Fisher wasn’t mad at them, Cherry and Mila apologized for ordering the cursed item and said they’d make it up to her and answer any questions she may have about being a girl.
Fisher thanked them for that and smiled. She then said she had a question for them. Mila and Cherry stood ready to answer serious and personal feminine questions, but Fisher simply asked what her next cosplay should be now that she’s a super cute-looking girl.
