A TG-Empress request for Last_of_workers
To those in the real world, Devan was lying on his couch wearing his full dive headset, but to Devan, or as he calls himself in the game, Declan Drake. He was fighting a powerful dragon boss in the MMO-RPG called “The Dungeons Across Denitszonia.”
It was a tough fight, but one Declan had been preparing for all week. He spent time crafting high-level potions for replenishing health and mana, worked on getting the materials needed to upgrade his equipment at the forge and, most importantly, leveling up his warrior and magic skills.
He entered the dragon's lair and started the fight, the one that’s normally done with a dozen or so players. Declan spent the first phase of the boss, which was its weakest, unleashing attacks on it relentlessly.
That went quickly; the second phase took a lot longer. Declan spent more time dodging its crazy attacks than attacking. Luckily he had a bow and arrow as well and was able to dodge and shoot over and over again.
In the final phase, the dragon transformed, becoming quicker and more powerful. This is when Declan started to go all out using all the potions and other supplies he brought to win. In the end, he used everything he brought and wore his weapons out, but he won.
He watched the dragon disintegrate and then he smiled, knowing the room was about to fill with a ton of treasure chests all for him. However, when the light came down to make them appear, there was only one chest.
Declan was confused; he’d never done this dungeon before, but he had heard there were always nearly twenty chests filled with gold and gems and sometimes legendary armor and weapons. So why was he only getting one? Did it glitch on him? Was he ripped off?
Declan walked over to the chest and opened it. Once he opens it, he sees several items inside. A set of heels, a tiara, long gloves, a necklace and a long, beautiful dress. He takes them all and adds them to his inventory.
Each item only had a question mark for its name, meaning it needed to be identified. Which Declan confirmed when he tried to read their description. Each item currently says “1 of 5. Equip to find out the properties.”
Declan puffed his cheeks. It was clear he had found an entire set of armor, possibly legendary or beyond legendary, as he’d never seen anything like it. It was just a shame that it was clearly meant for girls, though the game didn’t stop players from equipping such things, as some players are trans.
Declan stood there thinking about it. He didn’t really want to wear it, but he did want to know if it was legendary and what the effects were, as he may be able to sell it for a ton of money, but not without knowing its rarity or effects.
He figured wearing it couldn't be worse than leaving here empty-handed after working so hard. So he clicked on a piece to put it on, and that's when the system told him he had to equip all the pieces at once in order to wear it.
Declan sighed; it seemed he had little choice. He accepted it and felt as if his current armor was removed and as if the new set was added. Declan looked down at it, already embarrassed about wearing a dress like this, but she found a whole lot more to be embarrassed about.
Looking straight down, she found herself looking right into her own cleavage, which she could only do now because she had breasts. Declan quickly opened her menu and went to the equipment page to remove the things she put on.
When she tried to remove the dress, she got a message that read, “Unable to remove cursed equipment.” Declan let out a nervous laugh and then tried to say there was no way this was happening, but she only ended up saying, No way, in a very cute tone.
Declan ignored that for now and went to the dress itself and looked at its description. The dress was called “The Elegant Dress of Nerys” and it was a part of the “Princess Nerys” set. It came with its own effect, which was called “A Princess Must Be Proper.”
The description for that effect said that while the player is wearing this, their model switches to female and they become shorter and slimmer, with standard female model proportions. It also says the player will also stand and act more like a proper princess.
Declan let out a long sigh; that explained why she was suddenly female and standing straight up. Declan moved on to the next item and tried to unequip it but found it was also cursed and locked. This one was “The Sapphire Necklace of Nerys” and it had the effect “Princess in Trouble.”
This effect causes the players' in-game voices to become higher pitched and softer, basically very feminine, which Declan already noticed. Its second effect also limited what the player could say to a list of preapproved phrases, which was why she could only say no way earlier.
No way seemed to be one of the things she could say, probably because reactions to things in games are important. Declan tried to yell that this was stupid but ended up saying again in her feminine voice that this wasn’t great.
Declan rolled her eyes, and as much as she didn’t want to know what else she got from this stupid princess set, she needed to know how screwed she was from it. Next up was “The Jeweled Tiara of Nerys” and its effect, “Princess, Let Down Your Beautiful Hair.”
This makes the players' hair grow out until it’s at least lower than their butt. It also makes it so their hair never gets messy or dirty from things like mud and slime while keeping it silky soft. Other than having long hair, Declan didn’t mind that.
Of course it had to have the final effect of making it so the player can’t cut or change the style of their hair, so Declan was stuck with it how it was. After that was “The High Heels of Nerys” and its effect, “Don’t Lose Your Glass Slipper.”
While wearing the heels, the player’s run speed is cut in half, which isn’t even the worst part about them. The player can only run in them for about ten seconds safely; after that, every five seconds triggers a seventy-five percent chance to stumble and possibly trip.
That will make running from monsters impossible. Declan, having had enough already, cursed, which, thanks to the previous effect of pre-approved phrases, she ended up saying oh no out loud. Declan moved onto the final cursed part of this set.
“The Evening Gloves of Nerys” and its effect, “The Delicate Princess.” Which was tied for the worst part of this set. Its main effect kept the player from using any weapons and spells used to attack, meaning Declan could no longer fight.
It does boost the effectiveness of non-attack weapons and spells like staffs, musical instruments, and healing and support magics by over one thousand percent, which is a bit crazy and unlike anything Declan had seen in the game.
That would make this set perfect for a healer build; however, it continues to have its downsides. It prevents the player from committing certain actions, most of which seem to be aligned with doing crime, like picking locks, pickpocketing, and lying.
Declan held her face. In an instant her entire character was changed; she went from a powerful warrior who could beat one of the most powerful bosses alone to a dainty little princess who can’t fight.
Declan looked down at herself. She, of course, could still play like that, though she’d have to respect her skills and put them into things she could actually use now, and also she’d have to join a party since she couldn’t fight; however, it just seemed better to find a way to remove these cursed items.
Declan used an item in her inventory that is supposed to remove curses on gear at the cost of devaluing them a bit. Declan tried to use it and got the error saying that it didn’t work on ancient equipment. Reading that shocked Declan.
She went back to the equipment and looked at their rarity and it was in fact ancient equipment, which was a level above legendary and also never released because the devs made their stats overpowered and their effects crazy.
Declan checked the stats and a ton of them were through the roof with how high they were now, like Declan had a ton of health and mana now, so much so she could heal someone nonstop and never run out. However, as cool as that was, that brought Declan back to being stuck in this equipment set.
Since they never released ancient equipment, they never made the system capable of removing curses from it, so Declan really has to choose: is she going to keep playing as a princess healer or give up playing her favorite game?
