Christian was sitting on his balcony enjoying the view of the great big city he lived in. Christian had finished moving in just a few days ago, and he was excited to start his new life here in a real city.
Now that he had moved in he just had to find a decent job, something that could pay the bills, but for now, he could rely on his savings to keep him afloat. He figured he start filling out applications next week.
For now, he’d stare down at the city and see what it does at night. As he did, he noticed something he couldn’t believe. Some sort of giant crab monster was jumping across the rooftops.
Christian wiped his eyes again and looked back towards it to see if it was just his imagination, but still, he could see a giant crab monster, now though several people were chasing after it. It was hard to tell, but it looked like a bunch of girls in colorful dresses.
They eventually surrounded the crab on the rooftop directly across from Christian’s balcony. There were three girls, each with the same uniform on, but in a different color, blue, red, and pink.
Each of the girls summoned a weapon and started to charge the crab monster. They clashed with the monster and for a few minutes Christian thought they were winning, but right when they were about to finish it off, a huge energy wave shot out of it.
It grew nearly five feet taller and gained the ability to shoot energy. The tide of the battle quickly shifted to the side of the crab monster. The monster started shooting like crazy, it even sent the girl in red flying across the city.
Christian was leaning over his railing a bit. They were in trouble and he knew there was nothing he could do. The monster started to rampage and began shooting the surrounding buildings, including the one Christian was on.
The first blast nearly knocked him off the ledge, and before he could get his balance back the second destroyed his balcony sending him falling towards the ground. The girl in pink called out to the girl in blue to go and catch Christian.
The girl in pink then got the attention by smacking it in the head with her hammer. Christian was still falling and panicking quite a bit when the girl in blue jumped up to him. She caught him and started to glide downwards towards a lower rooftop.
The crab monsters managed to hit the girl in pink, knocking her unconscious. Then quickly turned its attention back to the girl in blue and now Christian. It fired another large blast at the two of them, and the girl in blue looked worried.
In the air she turned her back towards the blast, shielding Christian from it entirely, but the two were sent flying through the windows of his apartment building. Luckily it was an empty apartment, so the two of them just rolled until they hit a wall.
Christian managed to get up, his body was a little bruised but he was mostly okay. He ran over to the girl lifted her head up, and rested it on his lap. He shook her awake, and he was relieved when she opened her eyes.
She asked him if the monster was still on a rampage, and Christian looked out the hole in the wall and nodded. The girl in pink was still unconscious and the girl in red was still missing. The girl in blue tried to get up, but she was barely able to move a single arm.
She let out a fake laugh, then said this was quite troubling. She kept trying to get up, but Christian insisted that she remain lying down, she was clearly too injured to get up, never mind fight that creature.
She looked sad and told Christian there were only three magical girls left in this city, and if she couldn't get up everyone was doomed. Christian looked back out the window, then back at the girl.
He asked if there was anything he could do to help. It didn’t matter what, he would do it to save people. The girl stared at Christian for a minute and smiled, she told him he was a very good person for wanting to help.
She told him if he was truly set on helping he could take the bow off her chest and take the magical vows. It would imbue him with the power to fight such monsters, along with a new uniform and weapon.
She also mentioned that there'd be no backing out afterward. He’d be a part of the team and would need to fight evil creatures like she does. Christian smiled and said that didn’t sound so bad.
The girl then turned red, saying there was another part to it. Christian asked her what it was, and she told him it wasn’t that big of a deal, and that she could tell him afterwards. Christian nodded then grabbed her ribbon.
When he removed it from her chest, her uniform disappeared. He placed it on his chest and asked what to do next. She told Christian that she’d start saying the vow and he could follow along with her.
In the happiest day, in the saddest night, no monster shall escape my sight. Let those who crawl towards evils might beware my power, Magical girls light! As soon as he finished, he felt magic flow from the ribbon into his body.
He was lifted off of the ground and engulfed by a sparkly purple light. Christian could feel the magic transforming him. When the light disappeared Christian was dropped to the ground with her new uniform.
The girl told him it worked, and that she now had the same power she had, although she did lack some experience. Christian looked down and was a bit embarrassed by her current form and attire.
Christian did say she’d do anything to help, but she didn’t think it would mean turning into a literal magical girl, She felt a little uncomfortable in her new body, but there wasn’t a lot of time to worry about it.
The girl she had taken the ribbon form explained how to use serval abilities and summon her weapon. She instructed Christian to find the girl in pink and wake her up, and if Christian could find the girl in red, she said it would take all three of them to beat this crab.
Christian nodded and ran towards the hole in the building. She began to prepare herself to jump out but the girl once again called out to her. She Christian that she probably shouldn’t use her real name anymore, she even suggested a name for her.
Christian nodded and turned to jump out the window, and like that Magical girl Melody was born. She fell a couple of stories down before she managed to use her new magic to propel herself upwards.
Melody landed on a rooftop and started to make her way up to where she had seen the girl in pink earlier. Thankfully the monster didn't acknowledge her after knocking her out, so Melody found her quickly and woke her up.
The girl in pink looked surprised to see a new magical girl all of a sudden and introduced herself as Cordelia. Melody explained what happened and why she was here suddenly, Cordelia seemed to get it and thanked Melody for taking the vow to help them.
She then asked Melody if she had seen Ember, the girl in red. Melody looked out in the distance and said she thought she landed somewhere that way. Melody said she could run that way and see if she could find her.
Cordelia nodded, saying she would keep the attention of the monster away from civilians, but stay away until all three of them were together again. The two ran off in different directions, with Melody desperately trying to find a girl in a bright red dress just like hers.
It took a few minutes, but Melody found the girl wrapped up in a bunch power power lines. She was stuck and yelling about it. Melody jumped up next to her and started to untangle the lines to help free her.
One look at Melody and Ember knew things had gotten bad. She looked at Melody and told her that she had no idea who she was, but if she had become a magical girl just to help them she was okay in her book.
Melody explained the situation and mentioned that Cordelia was waiting for them, so there was no time to waste. Melody and Ember quickly made their way toward the large amount of blasts coming from the center of town.
When they arrived the girl in pink was dodging and hitting blasts back with her hammer, and Ember wasted no time summing her spear and jumping right in next to her. Melody wanted to join as well, but a sudden wave of fear washed over her.
Suddenly this whole thing frightened her, if she messed up she and the whole city could die. It got to the point where her heart was beating fast enough for her to feel it. She reached her hands up to the bow and tried her best to calm down.
She looked down and saw the other girls fighting, despite the danger. She knew she had to as well, even if she was scared, she had to help. Suddenly her ribbon started to shoot magic out from it, and Melody tried to grab it.
When she did, a long sharp ribbon wand appeared. It was purple and white, a perfect match for her hair and uniform. Just looking at the ribbon she knew she was meant to be here, she was meant to help them defeat the monster.
She jumped towards the ground and ran behind the monster while the other girls distracted it. Using the ribbon wand, she grabbed ahold of one of its feet and ran around the monster several times as quickly as possible.
Once she wrapped around it several times she jumped back and pulled as hard as she could. This managed to pull the monster over, making it fall on its face and crack its shell to reveal a weak spot.
Melody yelled at the other girls to attack, and the two of them in unison jumped up and lunged at the monster. Ember threw her sword as hard as she could into the monster's weak spot, and Cordelia smashed into it with her hammer deafening the monster.
The three of them cheered and ran up to each other. Cheers quickly turned into worry when Cordelia asked Melody where Lucy was. She told Melody to speak quickly as she was likely about to pass out, due to the staring of the first time transforming.
Melody told them she felt fine, but pointed to her apartment building and told them it was several floors below where she lived. Cordelia said she would go get Lucy and bring her to the recovery tanks, and Ember jumped behind Melody.
Melody was confused until she did in fact pass out suddenly. When she woke up, all the girls were in a medical bay chatting next to her. Everyone had bandages on them, and Lucy was lying on the next bed.
But everyone was alive, and when they noticed Melody was awake they focused their attention on her. They all thanked her and told her she was super cool and brave, and they couldn’t believe how powerful a newbie was.
Melody just blushed and smiled and tried to wave off the compliments. She then sat up but noticed something strange. She wasn’t wearing the ribbon anymore, but she was still a girl, Confused she asked the other girls.
Lucy then spoke up saying that this was the other thing she mentioned. Even though there can be magical boys, they require a different item and set of vows to get their powers. Since she used Lucy’s items and vow, she became a magical girl.
Lucy also said that she meant it when she said there was no turning back, as the change was permanent. Melody looked shocked and asked how that wasn’t a big deal, to which Lucy just shrugged it off.
She said being a woman was amazing, plus now Melody had three new sisters to teach her how to be an amazing magical girl and an even better regular girl. Since Melody came to their rescue and saved them, they promised to be there every step of the way in Melody’s new exciting life as a magical girl!
