Easter Sunday

So another easter is here, and many families celebrate this holiday in many different ways. My family had a pretty standard way of celebrating but it was fun and I loved it. We always started the morning by opening an easter basket brought by  “The easter bunny.” After we finished opening some small gifts that came with it, we’d eat a breakfast full of chocolate and little hard egg candies. After we nearly fell into a sugar coma, we’d head to the kitchen where Mother would have trays of hard-boiled eggs ready for us to paint. We’d spend all morning painting the eggs. Using every color, making different designs, dropping some so we could eat them, and of course trying to make the best egg ever. After we finished we’d set them to dry and go off and get distracted for a while.  While we were off doing who knows what, our parents would hide all of the eggs around the house for us to find. Of course, they would say it was the easter bunny, but we were kids and believed them.

I mean like an easter bunny would show up to our house just to hide our eggs right? Either way, whoever found the most eggs would get an extra chocolatey bunny. It also seemed to appear mysteriously from the easter bunny.  It was some damn good chocolate. We wouldn’t stop looking until every egg was accounted for, just to have a chance to win. After the winner was declared and all the eggs returned home, we made one of my favorite dishes, deviled eggs. Those babies were the best, no one could get enough. The only downside was those who got really bad gas from eating too much. The day would end with a wonderful meal surrounded by family, honestly, it was as good as any holiday could be.  Unfortunately for me, this is the first year I’ll be alone while celebrating. I recently moved to a city far away for a new job and I won't be able to come back to celebrate with them. It made me sad and since I was already feeling lonely, I decided to try celebrating on my own.

I didn’t get myself a basket, of course, mostly some candy and a carton of eggs. I painted the eggs like I usually do while snacking away on candy. They didn’t come out all that great but I sat them to dry grabbed a bear and sat on my couch.  I sat trying to relax while watching television, I ended up falling asleep and taking a small half-hour nap. I woke up when it sounded like someone was in my house moving around. I got up and looked around, not finding anyone. As I walked into the kitchen I noticed the dozen eggs I had painted were all missing. Someone had to have been in my house, I know I left them there. I walked around to look at the doors and windows and they were all still locked, it seemed impossible for anyone to get in.  While I was standing at the window I noticed out of the side of my eye, one of the eggs I painted sitting behind a picture frame. I picked it up and brought it to the kitchen, it seemed somehow they were all hidden, I guess I’d have to find them.

So I locked and I locked until I found eleven more eggs hidden around my apartment. As I walked into the kitchen with the last egg, I saw an amazing gold chocolate bunny sitting next to the egg cartoon. I put the last egg down and picked up the chocolate bunny, something about it felt special. I unwrapped the gold foil and ate it all right then. Its taste was exquisite, the chocolate was the richest I'd ever had. After eating I noticed the foil had some writing on the inside, “I know you’re lonely, but eating this will make it so you’ll never be lonely again little bunny.” It was a very strange message that was for sure, almost immediately after reading that I passed out. When I woke up there was a cute girl looking over me. “Welcome to our island, You’re our newest family member!” Confused, I asked her what she was talking about. “I went to your house to hide your eggs, and you were sadly sitting on your couch alone.”

“I was like that at one point, but I was invited into this family and it made everything all better!” Family? What are you talking about? “You joined the easter bunny's family, we help him hide all the eggs on easter.” Wait, so you're a real bunny girl? That’s not a costume? “That’s correct, just like you, I ate the bunny wrapped in gold foil and was brought here.” Just like you? But I’m not a bunny like you, why would I be brought here? “Perhaps you should look at your reflection in the water.” Once again confused I walked over to the water. The reflection that looked back at me was another bunny girl, much like the one I was talking to. I grabbed my head and sure enough, my ears now came out the top of my head and were fluffy and long. My hair also grew out to the point of touching my butt. Speaking of, that thing had grown out as well.

My waist had become super thin, with my chest doing the opposite. I had two watermelon-sized breasts sitting on it. My whole body was covered in fur, which honestly mostly felt the same as the large amounts of body hair I used to have. It was strange that my body had changed so much but still felt the exact same. After giving me time to process the other girl chimed in again with, “If you think that bodies are neat now, wait until you find out how fast you can run and how high you can jump.” She then demonstrated how good she’d become at it, I swear she almost disappeared with how fast she could run. “You know, these skills are how we get away with hiding eggs.” I guess it turns out easter bunnies were doing all that stuff my parents told me.  “Although, when we go back to the human world it’ll take you some time to get used to only being two feet tall,” I asked her what she meant by that, I asked her how I got back to normal. “Uh well, you don’t.” “The transformation is permanent, and you’ll only be allowed to leave here during easter.” I dropped to the ground, what about my life? My family? “No need to worry, the magic that transformed you takes care of all that. I’m not too sure of the details, but soon you’ll forget all about it.” “All that matters is you’ll never feel so lonely again, you now have a massive family that loves you!” As soon as she said that I couldn’t remember why I was so upset, I asked her what we were doing there. “Oh silly little sister, I guess you can’t expect much from the youngest. You were about to practice your running and jumping. You need to get better if you want to join us next year.” She was right, I did want to be able to go with them. Alrighty then, I’ll become the best just wait, big sis!
