My best friend Hanna is getting married to her fiance in just a couple of days. We’ve been friends since we were in kindergarten. We’ve always had each other's backs and I was super happy for her. I’ll admit I was a little upset that I didn’t have any special part in her wedding. In the end, it was her wedding so none of it was about me, so who was I to complain? I did my best to just be there for her. Things got kinda rough in the few days leading up to the wedding, and bad as it sounds she turned into quite the bridezilla. She was angry at everyone and kept treating people terribly, I figured it was just stress and kept doing everything I could to help out. That was until her fury turned towards me. I was currently setting chairs up according to a piece of paper with the seating arrangements on it. I apparently had the paper backward and there were too many chairs in the front. I apologized and told her I would fix it right away, but she already started going off on me. How could I be so stupid, why would I try to ruin her wedding, blah blah blah?
The last thing she said really hurt, she said if this was too hard for me, why was I even here? I just stood there, looking at her, with what was probably a face of horror. I might have even had tears in my eyes. I didn’t say anything and just left the room. I get she’s probably stressed but that’s no reason to treat anyone that way, especially her best friend. I mean I had been there for her every time she needed me to be. I never asked anything from her and I did more than anyone else to help make her wedding day perfect. Yet she’s still going to treat me so poorly. I get home, pour myself a few drinks, and end up falling asleep. I woke up the next day somewhere in the afternoon. I had about twenty messages from her, none of them containing an apology. Instead, it started off like normal, a hey where are you, leading to a few why aren't you here? Eventually, the messages became more aggressive like, you were supposed to be here, who’s going to set up the stage equipment, etc…
Eventually, she began calling me over and over again. I didn’t respond and I went about my day, continuing to ignore the incoming calls. Later in the day, I got a call from her fiance's number. I answered it thinking it would be her on the other end, but to my surprise, it was her fiance. The first thing he did was apologize on her behalf. Apparently, several things have gone wrong with the wedding in the last few days. She was beyond stressed, she even told him that she knew freaking out on me was wrong, but she was now too embarrassed to talk right now. He told me most of the problems were solved and he even thanked me for now getting into any arguments with her. Once they got everything fixed and she calmed down, she realized that she didn’t want to have a wedding without me there. That’s when they realized the only role in their wedding I had was as their servant. So he wanted to fix that, and he asked me if I’d like to give the first toast. I was a little overcome with joy, I accepted but told him I didn't have anything prepared and their wedding was in two days.
He said he’d come over to my place and help me write one tonight. He and I haven’t had too much interaction with each other, so this seemed like a good way to get to know him better as well. So later that night he shows up bringing a case of beer and a random bag. I asked him what was in the bag and he simply said it was a gift for his fiance. I didn't question it and cracked open a beer. We wrote and practiced a few different speeches and had a good time drinking. After I had about a six-pack down, he exclaimed that he had written the perfect speech. He handed it to me and told me to read it. I looked at him like he was crazy, this was in another language. How was I supposed to read it? He told me it was fine, something about his native tongue and it would be great. I decided to humor him and began reading it. I didn’t notice at the time, but he had grabbed the bag from earlier and pulled something out.
I finished reading the speech and looked up at him to get some sort of reaction to it. That’s when I saw him holding Hanna’s wedding dress. I asked him what he was doing. He didn’t say anything, instead he threw the dress at me. When I came to, he was standing above me. I couldn’t move or speak. That’s when he picked me up, which was strange, he was a scrawny dude and I was definitely much bigger than him. That’s when he walked us over to a mirror. The reflection was of him holding the wedding dress, I wasn’t in the picture, at least I didn’t realize I was at first. It turns out he had somehow put me into the dress. He began to fold me up and put me into the bag. When he put me into the bag he began to explain my new situation. Apparently, Hanna had feelings for me, but she was being forced to marry this dude, something about her family situation, which is something she never told me about. He wasn’t happy with that, which is why I never had a role in the wedding.
He didn’t even want me there and he was even madder when I kept offering to help out with the wedding. It seems the day she flipped on me, he had demanded she uninvited me. Apparently, she didn't want to, but he threatened to do something bad to me. She knew I wouldn’t just accept being uninvited and decided to be mean to me to push me away, away to safety that is. I guess when she started to call me over and over again, she was trying to warn me that he was coming, but my dumbass didn’t answer. The last thing he said to me was that this was the best way to make sure I stayed out of the picture. I’d get one last day with her at her wedding, my new role as the wedding dress. Afterward, when they go on their honeymoon, he plans to put her on the bed while she’s still wearing me and start ripping me apart. Afterward, he would throw my pieces into the trash, and I would spend the rest of eternity in a landfill. As you can guess Hanna had no idea what happened to me, although she suspected her husband had something to do with it.
She wore me during her wedding and during their first love session afterward. He did exactly what he said he would. He ripped a hole right in between her legs, she was mad, but let him do as he wanted. He continued to rip me until I fell off of her, being tossed to the side. She woke up the next morning and shoved all my pieces into a box. She hid me away until they got back home and stuffed me into the closet. There I sat for many years. Eventually, she pulled me back out, she was now a much older woman. She stuffed me into a bag and brought me to a tailor to be fixed. I’ll admit it felt good to be one piece again after so many years. After I was fixed she gave me to another woman, one who looked just like her but younger. I was fitted to her figure and sometime later I was used in her wedding as well. Hanna was also at this wedding, but she was alone. A couple of years ago I’d be screaming inside just to be able to talk to her, but now I’m just happy to be used. Something that would happen many, many times. I became something of a family heirloom. The dress all the women and one of the guys in the family got married in!
