Fire Emblem Heroes: Camilla I

My girlfriend and I were sitting at a diner getting breakfast and overall having a great time. We were having a great time. It did help that we were comparing our best units from our favorite mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes.

I’ve been playing the game since it came out, and recently she started liking Fire Emblem in general, so I got her to start playing the mobile game with me. She doesn’t have a lot of heroes yet, but she does have a decent Marth that I helped her build.

I, on the other hand, have plenty of maxed heroes to pick from, so more often than not, I use characters I like over the truly strongest ones. Take Camilla; she’s not the strongest, but she’s a powerhouse.

She’s also quite the woman, not that I’d tell my girlfriend that, but she’s the one I always marry in Fire Emblem Fates. I mean, I can’t understand how anyone could pass on marrying her with everything she’s got going on, personality- and body-wise.

Again, I’d never tell my girlfriend that. I wouldn’t want her to think I’m weird or maybe even get mad at me. So I act as though I just like how she plays and that she balances my team of random male characters I throw in.

For the next ten minutes, we both switch from eating to playing missions or just chatting with each other until our meal is complete. We paid and went to exit the dinner, but suddenly there was a loud cracking noise, followed by what felt like the building shaking.

The last thing I remember is falling to the floor after something hit my head, and then I woke up in a huge bedroom in what seemed like a castle. I sat up, and something on my chest moved down. It was strange; whatever it was, it was super heavy.

I look down and see two large things that definitely shouldn’t be there. I start laughing awkwardly and thinking I must be dreaming. Since I was dreaming, I decided to have some fun by playing around in it.

I ran my hands through my hair, looked out the window, and felt the cold winter air hit my face, and I messed with my clothes. Everything I did felt… So realistic. It was honestly a little unsettling, so I decided to explore whatever was going on further.

I got out of bed and felt my new additions move and did my best to ignore them. Standing up, I noticed right away I was quite tall; considering in this dream I was very clearly a woman, that was quite rare.

I also noticed my overall body shape and hair color were familiar, like I’d seen it before, but from a different perspective. I walked over to a mirror that was nearby, doing my best not to trip in the thigh-high heels I was wearing.

When I got to the mirror and saw myself, I was both amazed and a bit embarrassed. Inside this dream, I seem to have taken on the appearance of Camilla, but in one of her limited-edition summer outfits, which makes no sense with how cold it is, but I guess dreams are like that.

I couldn’t believe I was her or that it felt so real, like this was my actual body. I’ve never had such a vivid dream. I continued to mess around with my new body and outfit when it clicked to me: this was the same version of Camilla I used in the mobile game.

That’s probably why my brain turned me into her, right? Because I was thinking about her when…. I quickly shook my head. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it doesn’t make me feel very good, so instead I’ll focus on what was happening in front of me.

I was currently a very beautiful woman from one of my favorite games, and it didn’t seem like this dream was ending anytime soon, so I had to get used to walking around like this, which, I’ll admit, is super embarrassing.

Hopefully I’m wrong about not waking up soon, and I won’t have to deal with this very long. Until then, I might as well explore and see what this dream has to offer. I left the room I was in, and as I walked through the building I was in, I saw other Fire Emblem characters.

Characters from across the entire series could be found. People like Gatekeeper from three houses, Saphir from Engage, and more than a couple versions of Corrin, all of whom were wearing different versions of a maid's uniform.

I walk out of the building and find myself in a plaza, and at the center of the plaza, I see Alphonse, his sister Sharena, and the white-cloaked summoner. They were all standing together messing with the Breidablik.

They seemed concerned, almost like it was broken or having some sort of other problem. I was about to walk over and talk to them to see what was going on; I mean, they’re the main characters of the mobile game, which seems to be what my dream is based on.

However, before I could walk forward, I was stopped by someone grabbing my arm. I stop and turn to see none other than the hero king himself, Marth. Well, at least one version of him, as there were quite a few of them.

He seemed nervous and confused about something. My dream seemed to want me to talk with him, so I decided to play along. I asked him what was wrong, and what he had to say was more than a bit surprising.

He said my real name and then asked if I was inside the body of Camilla. I was a bit taken aback by that; I mean, this was a dream, but something about this was unsettling. I ended up nodding and telling Marth that I was but asked why that was important.

Marth smiled and said he was glad to finally find me; then he jumped forward and hugged me. I let out an awkward laugh and let him do a bit of crying. Something about it felt familiar to me though, almost like when I was with my girlfriend.

But dreams are like that right? They can just mimic real life, so this really isn't so strange, plus it felt kind of nice. Once he finished, he explained he wasn’t actually Marth, but instead he claimed to be my girlfriend trapped inside the body of Marth.

He then talked about the building we were in falling apart in an earthquake; then he ended up here as Marth. He said that the two of us must have been isekaied or something, as if this was some sort of anime.

I started to feel uncomfortable, thinking about what happened before I woke up and hurt my head, but it also made me more and more worried that this wasn’t actually a dream. Needing to know for sure, I started slapping my face.

It hurt, but I didn’t wake up. I kept doing it, but Marth stopped me and asked me what I was doing. I explained, and for some reason he got mad at me. He told me none of this was a dream and that we were both transported into another world and put into the bodies of Fire Emblem characters.

I let out an awkward laugh and then looked down at myself. If that was true, that meant that the body I found myself in currently was real and it was mine and would be mine until we found a way to get back to our world.

Marth saw my face growing red and laughed at me; he said he had a feeling he knew what I was thinking, and he assured me being a woman wasn’t bad and that I was pretty lucky to end up as such a cool-looking baddie.

I let out a laugh and said he was right about that but told him it would still take time to adjust to, though I’d prefer not to do that and get back home as soon as possible. He agreed, and we went to speak with the summoner.

As we approached them, Breidablik started shooting like crazy, summoning a ton of heroes from across the Fire Emblem games. Some arrived passed out, while others who didn’t seem extremely confused and scared, like something bad just happened to them.

None of them really seemed like the heroes we’d seen in the games, almost like they weren’t. Perhaps they were like Marth and me. Once the summoning stopped, the Summoner and company seemed quite upset.

They then left while discussing something before I had the chance to speak with them. However, we were able to speak to a Female Robin, who was wearing a swimsuit and didn’t seem surprised that we came from another world.

She said that everyone here was from another world and that they were all summoned here because the Breidablik was cursed and being activated randomly and they had no idea how to stop it and they had no way to send people home yet, but they were working on it.

I was going to explain that Marth and I weren't actually these characters but were pulled from another world and put in these bodies, but we figured it was sort of pointless. It seemed really hard to believe.

So Marth and I decided to embrace this new life for as long as we were living it, and we decided to travel around the kingdom as mercs for hire. Marth became really skilled with his sword, and I learned a bit of magic and how to swing a greataxe like a pro.

We still date as well, but we’ve been taking it slow. Both of us swapped genders, and that was a big adjustment, so it’s best this way for now. Though, I have to admit, it’s sort of cool to be dating Marth while looking like Camilla, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
