Forever tied: Love that transcends worlds (Commission)

A commission for last_of_workers!  Part 3 of 3  (Outside perspective)

Princess Adelia and her most loyal knight Swetyne, or what they once went by Aries and Sato. Two souls bound so tightly together that even being reborn in another world they found each other, despite not knowing who the other was in their past life.

Their love for each other slowly grew as Swetyne attended to her princess's needs and protected her, and in turn, her princess showered her with love. One fateful encounter with a whilg wolf set their feelings for the other ablaze.

From that day forward once a month the two would sneak out of the castle to have fun. It was an amazing break for Adelia, as she got to feel like a normal person unburdened by her duties as a princess.

Almost a year after their first breakout, the yearly festival of life had arrived. Everyone in the kingdom attends, including the princess, princes, and king. Better yet, knights from around the kingdom come to duel in order to earn the right to dance with their favorite princess.

In the years prior, everyone who won would dance with her older sisters, but now that she was old enough and the youngest Adelia feared she had to dance with some random man when she’d rather dance with  Swetyne.

The day comes and the royal family sits atop a stage to watch the tournament. The whole time people were fighting, Adelia had looked for  Swetyne. For some reason, she was nowhere to be found.

Adelia figured she had some extra duties with the festival, so she continued to look bored. Eventually, a knight in large heavy armor stepped up to fight, he was clad in armor from head to toe, and it was quite thick, especially in the chest area.

Adelia was quite confused, as she had never seen a knight with such armor, but when he quickly defeated his opponent he became a crowd favorite. Round after round this mysterious knight one, and the crowd roared with excitement.

He even started beating the strongest most seasoned knights. He made it all the way to the final match, where he had to fight the captain of the knights and the personal guard to the king, Swetyne’s father.

The battle was intense, and this was the first time the mysterious knight had been hit in his battles, but it seemed like the two had fought before. Clash after clash, blow for blow the two fought, and in the end, Swetyne’s father fell.

He yelled to the knight and announced him the winner, but strength he had a huge smile on his face. He wasn’t known for being a happy guy, so something strange was definitely going on. He brought the knight up to face the king.

The king began to sing praises to the knight. In all his years he’d never seen any actually defeat Sir Vyen. Normally he’d just mess around and beat up the winner a bit, but this year he actually yielded in defeat, and he was certain it wasn’t a fluke.

Adelia was on the edge of her seat, she knew this was it. The winner would reveal his face to the king and he’d be allowed to choose the princess he wished to dance with, but she wasn’t expecting her father to change the reward for winning the tournament.

The king hadn't even found out who was underneath the helm before he declared the knight would be betrothed to his youngest daughter. Adelia’s heart dropped, she couldn’t believe he just did that to her.

The king stood up and approached the knight. He grabbed him by the shoulder and they faced the ground. He declared to the kingdom that the knight was pardoned from any crimes or duties that they may have been tied to in their old life.

He said from that day forward, this knight would serve the kingdom as its newest prince and future head of the guards, replacing Sir Vyen when he retired. He then turned to the knight and told him to kneel before him so he could remove his helmet.

They were about to do that but Adelia couldn't take it and jumped out of her seat. She ran up to her father and started yelling at him. She told him she wouldn't marry some random knight from who knows where.

The king was surprised, he had never heard her speak up before nevermind yell. He told her he had thought this was what she wanted, as all her sisters eagerly waited for him to find them suitable people to marry, and since she never said anything he thought she was waiting as well.

Adelia put her head down. She told him not long ago she would have accepted this, but now her heart belonged to someone else. The king walked up to her and placed his hand on her chin and pointed her head up.

He asked her who it was that she loved and she turned red and she confessed on the stage in front of her father and the rest of the kingdom that she was in love with the knight Swetyne. The crowd of people began to mumble between each other.

The king smiled at her and told her if that was her heart wanted he would see it happen. The king walked over to the knight and apologized to him saying he was sorry that he could no longer fulfil the promise of Adelia’s hand.

The knight just started laughing like crazy. The king seemed confused, and Adelia noticed that the knight’s voice was familiar. Adelia looked over the knight again trying to identify them, and that's when she finally noticed it.

On the pommel of the knight's sword dangled a little princess keychain. Adelia covered her face with her hands and said Swetyne’s name. The knight stopped laughing and told her it was about time she noticed.

The knight removed their helm and revealed who they were. Swetyne with an extremely red face stood there smiling. Adelia couldn't contain herself and ran right over and hugged  Swetyne as tightly as she could.

Swetyne wrapped one of her hands around her and placed the other one on her head. Adelia asked her why she was here, and  Swetyne told her that she was there to kick ass and proclaim her love for her to the world, but then said she wasn’t expecting her to beat her to it

Adelia began to apologize saying she didn't mean to ruin it, but then she suddenly stopped talking. Her face became redder than a tomato. She looked into Swetyne’s eyes and nearly started crying. She asked if she really came here because she loved her.

Swetyne nodded and told her she was the most important person to her, and that she wanted nothing but to stand at her side. Then she asked if she truly said felt the same way about her. She smiled despite tears flowing across her face and nodded.

Adelia let go of her and the two held hands and faced the king. He still looked a bit confused, and he turned to Sir Vyen who was still smiling behind all of them. The king asked him if the pair had his blessing and he nodded his head.

The king then looked back at them and told them that it was settled, they had his blessing as well.  Swetyne turned towards them and kissed her on the lips in front of the entire kingdom. The crowds cheered and the festivities continued.

Many months later another grand celebration would take place, the wedding of Princess Adelia Tyert and the knight Swetyne Vyen of Tyert. The kingdom rejoiced in their joining and welcomed their newest princess with open arms.

Their wedding was a truly beautiful night, Swetyne watched as her loved one walked down the aisle with her father. They held hands while the priest did his thing, and when it came time they both said I do and kissed.

Later that night for the first time, they were able to sleep in the same room in the same bed, from this day on they were equals, even if Swetyne refused to step down as her protector. To her that was her full-time job.

In the months following their wedding. Swetyne helped Adelia open up more and speak her mind, and she was able to convince her father of the importance of her study and the magical properties of the plants in their world.

He couldn't deny how beneficial to Elven kind her work would be and had no choice but to allow her to travel the continue to find and study plants. So she was now off to live her dream of exploring the world, all with her amazing wife by her side, or her and wife's squad of knights. This is far from the end of their journey together in this world, they’d have many adventures together, loving each other and protecting each other every step of the way.
