A commission for last_of_workers! Part 1 of 3 (Knight's prospective)
I don’t remember a lot about what happened right before I woke up in his strange world. I do remember being with my best friend and crush Aries. I remember going to the arcade, something falling, and protecting him with everything I had in me.
I think I died sometime after that and when I came to I was a baby in a completely different world. I was born into a family of knights that had long served the elven royal family of Tyert. I was also the first female born into my family.
My early years were quite awkward considering I had memories from my old life, especially since In that life I was male, and I really didn’t enjoy all the girly dresses my parents made me wear all the time.
Life was pretty simple growing up as a village girl, but I always knew that life would change once I turned fourteen. When I did, I moved out of my family home and to the castle barracks to begin my training.
For the next year, my training went pretty well, I learned how to use many different types of weapons, learned about tactics, and learned about the person I’d soon spend the rest of my life protecting, Princess Adelia.
My second year of training wasn’t as easy, yeah the training was harder but that wasn't really my problem. I was fifteen and going through puberty. My body began to grow in places I truly wasn't prepared for.
Over the second year, I developed breasts, and areas like my ass and thighs started to get larger. By the end of my third year of training, my breasts had easily outgrown most standard sizes, meaning I had to wear special-order armor, which was always extremely revealing for some reason.
By the time I finished my fourth and final year of training my body had fully matured, and I was now among the kingdom's most attractive woman, not that I wanted to be. Not long after finishing my training and becoming eighteen, I was knighted, and I was finally off to meet my princess.
I found her outside the castle in the woods looking at flowers. I remember her looking so sad, almost like she was lonely. It brought up memories of when I met Aries in my past life. Aries had always sat alone at school, even during recess, he had no friends, well until I started hanging out with him.
After that, I always felt it was my job to protect him, whether it was from bullies or his own overly trusting nature and gullibility. Something about this girl just felt so similar to him. I walked over to her knelt down and introduced myself.
She turned bright red and told me there was no need to act so formally towards her, she was the seventh daughter and her father's twelfth-born child, so there really wasn’t anything special about her, but I assured her she was wrong.
I spent the next few weeks following her around. Somehow being around her felt so familiar, anytime she would need help I’d somehow know it before she did. She was also super easy to get talking, simply asking her about what she was doing caused her to light up and speak for hours.
She was really into plants, and would often talk about them being magical and could change the world, but I really didn't understand it. So I bought an empty book and started writing down and drawing the plants she was studying.
As weeks turned into months, she finally started to accept me and even treated me as if I were her friend instead of her servant. She would even give me some of the flowers she grew and would weave them into my hair.
Everything about her was amazing, she was sweet, shy, caring, and intelligent. Honestly she was just like Aries. I loved being around her, and I found myself following her around even on my monthly day off, or when I was relieved for the night for parties or meetings.
She really helped me fill the void of not having Aries around, and as the personal knight of the princess and a member of the royal knight family, I didn’t have a lot of friends as most people were jealous and hated me. Everyone else was just interested in my body.
Adelia started to talk more and more about leaving the castle and finding the flowers and plants from her book and the ones I had written down and sketched, she also started to seem sad again, like she was before I met her.
So I advised a plan. My next day off, I left her with her backup guards and I went into town. I used my savings to buy a dress in her size with a matching cloak. The cashier made a joke about it being a gift for someone as it was too small for me, then made a weird gesture with his hands on his chest.
I paid the man and left. Then I took a trip to the big forest just outside the kingdom. I looked around for a couple of hours until I found a spot that had several of the plants Adelia wanted. I marked down the location and headed back to the castle.
I then scout the outside of the castle leading up to her bedroom window. It was possible to get down from there. I did have to move some heavy crates around, but it was worth it, I was now able to climb up to her window.
I unlatch her window and sneak into her room, just in time for her to walk in. I handed her the clothes I had gotten her. She opened them and she asked me what this was about. I told her it was a surprise, and to just get changed. She turned around and started to change.
When she turned around, I was standing at the window with my hand held out to her. I asked her if she wanted to sneak out for the night. She was about to say something about getting in trouble, so I grabbed her hand and pulled her out the window.
We went along the path I had scouted, and she almost fell a few times, but I caught her every time. After that, we got through the courtyard with no problem. Once we were in town, Adelia looked amazed, and she seemed so excited.
I decided to show off the town to her, and we started with the night market. At some point without me noticing she had actually bought something. I’m sure she overpaid, but she bought us keychain decorations, so I wasn’t going to ruin the moment.
She gave me one that was a princess, and she kept one that was a knight. It was so cute, and I attached it to the pommel of my sword. After that, I brought her to the stables where I learned how to ride a horse.
I introduced her to Lemmy the horse. I pulled him out and attached a saddle to him, then I picked the princess up and put her onto him, then I climbed up and sat behind her. Then her first horseback lesson began.
She was pretty bad at it, but it was a lot of fun. Once she had enough I took over and rode us out to the area I had found with the plants she wanted. She noticed right away and nearly fell off the horse trying to get to them.
She went over and started picking flowers and leaves off of them. She asked me how I knew they were there, and I pulled out my book and showed her. She flipped through the book seemingly impressed, but then my heart dropped a bit.
I had completely forgotten that the last few pages are completely unrelated to plants. They’re just sketches I did of her. I wanted to snatch the book back, but doing so to a princess would be completely out of place, so if she saw them, I’d just have to be embarrassed.
She closed the book told me it was great, and thanked me for the wonderful gifts. So I don’t think she saw them. She went back to collecting and I continued to watch her, but I started to hear some faint sounds.
It sounded like something was moving near us, but there shouldn't be any wild animals or whilg monsters. So something was here that shouldn't be, and somehow I had a feeling they were after the princess.
I jumped in front of her and pushed her out of the way and out jumped a whilg wolf. It had bit my arm, and as much as it hurt, I knew once it let go it would be too quick to get before it got to the princess, so I took my hand and punched its head down.
That got its upper jaw stuck in my arm, giving me time to pull out a knife and jam it through its eye and into its brain. This caused the magic that created it to vanish, along with its body, leaving nothing behind.
I was in incurable pain, but I needed to be strong for the princess. So I turn around and reach my good hand out to help her up. She sat there in shock for a minute, but grabbed my hand and got up. She then pulled a bunch of stuff out of her bag.
She pulled out this bowl with a stick in it and started mixing the plants she got with water, and she made some sort of paste. She then took my arm and started to spread it over the wounds, which caused the pain to go away and the bleeding to stop.
She then started to wrap my arm up in some cloth she had. As I sat there watching her work, something strange happened. I swear for a moment she looked just like Aries. He used to do the same thing for me when I got hurt in my old world.
It could have been due to the lack of blood in my body, but my heart was racing and I swore her face was shining. It was like someone was giving me a sign that she was the most important thing in my life, perhaps it was Aries trying to tell me to be happy even if he was not here.
She finished wrapping my arm up and nearly started crying saying she thought she was going to lose me. I pat her on the head and tell her not to worry. Then we make our way back to the castle. I made a promise that night, I’ll always protect her, and I won’t leave her behind like I did to Aries.
