Kamryn was chilling at the bar with his best friend Lilah her boyfriend Apollo and a few of their other friends. Everyone was having a great time, including Kamryn, but there was something eating at the back of his mind.
He was happy Lilah had someone she cared about, and was happy. Apollo was an awesome guy and everyone seemed to like him, and it showed he treated her as the most important person in his life.
Now Kamryn had no problem with that, he merely had a problem that he wasn’t the one who got to do that. He’s had a crush on her since they were children running around the playground throwing sand.
He had tried several times to ask her out but got cold feet every time, and now they're nearly thirty years old and he still hasn’t told her about his crush. All he could do was wait and hope they broke up so he would get another chance.
But it seemed that wasn’t going to happen, as suddenly Apollo got down on one knee and proposed to Lilah, and she accepted. The group continued to drink to celebrate them and by the end of the night, Kamryn was stumbling out of the bar alone and a bit miserable.
He walked down the sidewalk made it to a bus stop and sat next to a strange older lady on the bench. He was mumbling to himself and the woman noticed and asked about his problems, and he rambled on about Lilah and Apollo.
The woman listened to him and when he was done she pulled a piece of paper out of her bag and a pen. She told him it was a torn piece of an ancient tome that would grant wishes by changing reality to make what was written on it come true.
She told Kamryn to write that he wanted to be with the girl of his dreams and it would come true. Kamryn was drunk and didn’t even question it. So as the bus showed up and the woman got on and left he wrote his wish.
“I wished Lilah loved me more than she loved her fiancee Apollo.” Once he finished writing it, he fell backward on the bench and passed out. Kamryn was woken up sometime later by Lilah standing over her and shaking her awake.
She told her it was time to get up and eat breakfast. Kamryn sat up wiped the sleepyness away from her eyes and asked how drunk she had gotten last night to end up passed out at her place. Lilah just looked at Kamryn confused.
Kamryn just stared blankly waiting for an answer. Lilah broke the silence and asked her who taught her to speak like that, and then said it better not be her daddy. Kamryn was now looking at her confused and asked why she was talking to her like she was a child.
Lilah rubbed her head still confused and said because Kamryn was a child, and they didn’t have time for this. Kamryn needed to go to the bathroom, get dressed, and eat so she could head to daycare so Lilah could go to work.
Then she left the room. Kamryn looked around and just noticed two big everything around her was, and how girly and childish this room was. Kamryn had been here tons of times, and this room was a spare bedroom and quite empty and plain before, when did they change it?
As Kamryn went to the bathroom, she noticed that something was very wrong, as she was barely tall enough to reach the door handle to the bathroom. Once inside she found a step stool in front of the sink. She used it to climb up to the mirror to look at herself.
To say she was shocked by what she saw in the mirror was an understatement. Kamryn had completely changed overnight. Instead of being in her late twenties and male, she was now a child probably around three or four and female.
Worse than that, she looked a lot like Apollo. Kamryn now had his blonde hair, which was styled very similarly to Lilah’s. She had Apollo’s bright green eyes, and her face resembled Lilah’s. It was almost like her current body was a mix of both of them like she was their kid.
But they didn’t have kids, in fact, they had just gotten engaged yesterday, right? It was a little hard to remember the night, likely because at the time she was drinking heavily. Kamryn washed her face and left the bathroom.
Sitting on her bed now was a pair of underwear, socks, and a pink dress. It seemed she was expected to put those on, but there was no way in hell she was doing that, instead, she was going to figure out how to turn back.
So she left her room in her pajamas and went up to Lilah to try and convince her this wasn’t right, but the second he called her Lilah instead of Mommy she got in trouble. Lilah told her she didn’t like this game, and that she needed to go get dressed right now or she’ll end up in timeout.
Kamryn made the mistake of laughing like it was a joke, which led to her getting put in timeout standing in a corner of the house. For some reason, it felt like she stood there for hours, so when Lilah came back with her clothes she reluctantly put them on.
She was then taken to the table to eat cereal and then was dropped off at daycare. She spent the next couple of hours sitting at a table watching crazy kids run around screaming. She was unable to leave since she was now a child, although she did try to sneak out, which didn’t work out.
At some point later the daycare started to let kids out to their parents and Kamryn was led outside. She was expecting Lilah to pick her up but instead, it was Apollo. He walked over, thanked the daycare attendants picked Kamryn up, and kissed her on the cheek.
Kamryn was embarrassed and made sure that this guy was holding her, so she told him to drop her and he did. He then asked her if she had a bad day, but Kamryn ignored him, especially as he buckled her into her car seat.
He gave her his phone and told her to play some games to cheer them up, and they began to drive back home. Using his phone, Kamryn did some digging and learned a lot about this new reality she found herself in.
The first was that her old identity didn’t exist anymore and that it was also six years in the future from the night she would have had drinks at the bar with Lilah and Apollo when they got engaged, which seemed to be enough time for Lilah to get pregnant, give birth and Kamryn to be her current age.
That also confirmed that Kamryn was now their kid. Having her former love rival as her father sent shivers down her spine. She put the phone down and became lost in thought. Since she’s their child, they’ll never believe her about being their former friend.
So she was stuck in this new life, being forced to wear girly clothes and call Lilah Mommy and Apollo Daddy. Just then, a fuzzy flash of the memory of talking to the woman at the bus stop and getting the piece of paper flashed in her head. Her heart dropped when she realized she had caused this.
What she wrote on the paper had come true, any good parent puts their kids above all else, which meant she probably loved Kamryn more than Apollo now. If Kamryn wasn’t drunk she might have worded her wish better, but now it was too late, unless, of course, she found that woman again.
Of course, she couldn't do that until she was old enough, so she’d be spending quite a long time in her current life, but there was no way she was going to accept it or make it easier for her daddy as she blamed him for all of this.
Over the next couple of months, Kamryn made things difficult for Lilah and Apollo and was extremely rude and misbehaved constantly under Apollo’s watch, but after many many punishments, Kamryn stopped finding life easier to be good.
Instead, she chose to focus on studying, and since she still had all her memories from her past life, she was already further ahead than most kids her age. Her hope was intently to find out anything about a tome that when written in granted wishes.
She never found anything relating to it, but thanks to all her studying she became the smartest person in her school and was even studying college-level material despite only being a second year in high school.
In the twelve years since becoming a girl in this new reality, Kamryn had adjusted to a lot of changes and learned to like things she was initially set on hating, for instance, clothes. For the first few years after her transformation, she refused to wear dresses and anything pink.
She was always lost in the end, but she refused to be happy about it, over time she came to enjoy wearing them, especially when she got to high school and got her first uniform. She loved how cute it was, although she didn’t enjoy how short they were, and the boys who peeked at her panties.
Her relationship with her parents had gotten better as she got into her teens, and as she accepted her changes. She stopped misbehaving with her father and even went out of her way to be nicer to him. Her feelings for her mother even changed, as she loved her, but platonically.
She hasn’t changed all that much from her old life, for example, she’s still a love-stricken fool though, one who can’t muster up the courage to confess to her crush, who’s now some boy named Jacob, who’s the quarterback of the football team.
Luckily her new childhood friend Sarah, knew this and had let it slip to her boyfriend who was on the team that Kamryn liked him. Which would eventually lead to her getting asked out and dating him, giving her yet another reason to like this new life.
