Jackie Chan, Adventures, is an American animated television show that was popular in the early two thousands. Though it’s been two decades since the show ended, there is still a friend group that originally came together thanks to the show.
Even to this day, their friendship is strong and their love for the show is even stronger. So when Ryker was stumbling around an old antique shop and found a set of twelve talismans that looked identical to the ones from the first season he couldn't resist buying it.
There was only one set, and he wanted to share this amazing find with his friends, luckily there were twelve talismans and twelve of them. So he handed everyone a talisman to keep, that way they had something to always remember about the show.
What Ryker didn’t expect was for all the talismans to activate and shine brightly. One moment they were all in the same room, and the next they were teleported across the world, transformed, and given powers.
Bryce opened her eyes a bit, then closed them and rolled over onto her side. She was about to go back to sleep when she heard a noise. It sounded like a bag of dog food being shaken, and as soon as it started a ton of dogs around Bryce started to bark like crazy.
Bryce was startled awake. She tried to stand up but hit her head leaving her stuck on her hands and knees. She turned her head to look around and she seemed to be inside some sort of cage. Had she somehow drunkenly stumbled into a dog rescue and crawled into a cage?
Well, this was the strangest thing that’s ever happened to her by far, but at least she could get out of here. She crawled up to the gate of the cage and reached her hand out to slip her fingers through so she could unlock it.
The problem was, she didn’t have any fingers. Instead, she had paws, paws that were too thick to fit through the small holes in the cage door. Bryce was confused, had she taken some sort of drug that was making her hallucinate, or did she really have paws?
She was looking at her paws when a bunch of workers came walking in holding bowls of food. Bryce tried to ask them for help, but with all the other dogs barking, she couldn't even hear what the people were saying over all the noise.
She watched as they went from cage to cage slipping a bowl of food into each of them. Then finally one of them made it to her cage. She once again asked if she could be let out, but strangely the worker didn’t seem to respond to any questions she was asking.
Instead, the worker called her a good girl, slipped a bowl of food into the cage, and went about. Bryce, annoyed loudly, asked her to come back, and thanks to all the dogs now eating she could finally hear herself which caused her to realize she’d been barking the whole time.
She really was a dog, and not only that she was trapped in a cage. Bryce lay down and stared at the bowl of food. She had so many questions, and the biggest one was how she turned into a dog, but she couldn't come up with anything that made sense.
Before she was here, she was with her friends. She was really focused on a game she was playing when Ryker handed her something, but she couldn't remember what it was, after that, there was a flash... Was it her losing the game or something else?
She whined as she sat there. Whatever it was she had to reverse it, she couldn’t remain a dog, right? Bryce had to get out of there, which didn’t seem possible at the moment. So she just had to lay there until she had a chance to run out.
Fortunately, the rescue started letting people in to look at the dogs in hopes they’d adopt them. Unfortunately, no one seemed interested in Bryce. So she watched as every other dog was pulled out and played with and as some left her permanently.
Her one chance to escape came when a worker opened the cage to bring Bryce on a walk, but it was quickly foiled when a collar was wrapped around her neck and a leash attached to the collar. She did try to run off during the walk, but the worker was much stronger than her.
So in the end Bryce was humiliated as she pissed and shit in the grass and then was forced back into a cage for the night. She tried for a while to get out, but still without fingers it was impossible. So sat here bored until she fell asleep.
She woke up early the next morning starving, and with great reluctance ate the dog kibble. It wasn’t awful but human food was far better, but at least she’ll have energy if she gets the chance to escape, if that ever happened.
Another day of watching dogs get played with and adopted. Bryce found herself slightly jealous. She didn’t even want to be a dog, but it felt kind of bad that no one wanted to adopt her, and even worse that no one wanted to play with her.
As the day came to an end, Bryce was taken on another walk, which she really needed because she really had to go. She sniffed around, found the perfect spot, and relieved herself. Then she and the worker made their way back to the dog rescue.
On the way, a building nearby exploded and burst into flames. The worker dropped the leash while being startled and Bryce knew this was her chance to escape, so she started to run, that’s when she heard a cry for help.
She turned back to see a child crying in the second-story window, and the flames were getting closer to her. Bryce looked around, there were people, but they were all too scared to help, and there were no firefighters around.
The child was in danger and could die if something wasn’t done. Bryce looked down, shook her head, and started to run. When she got near the front she took a big leap and broke in through the window.
Glass shards ran throughout her body, but somehow she didn’t have a scratch on her. Bryce looked around, the kitchen was completely engulfed in fire and had already burned through the ceiling to the upstairs.
Bryce turned her head and ran towards the stairs. She made her way up to the upstairs hallway which was on fire. Bryce took a deep breath and ran through the flames. It was extremely hot, but again she still wasn’t hurt.
Once on the other side, she was at the door to the kid's room. She backed up and ran head-first into the door. It opened a little, but not enough for her to get in, so she did it again, and again until she got into the room.
Once she was in she found the child crying in the corner. She turned around to plan an escape route, but the flames had gotten worse, so there was no way for them to get out the way she came in. So she slammed the door closed to buy them time.
She ran over to the kid and barked, but she was too scared to look up. So Bryce did what dogs do best. She licked the kid and made her giggle a bit, and in turn, showed her everything was going to be okay.
She got the child up, ran over, and grabbed the sheet off of her bed. She then ran around the child with it and managed to get it in a knot. Bryce then grabbed one of the blocks from the kid's room, spun around in a circle, and threw it as hard as she could into the window.
The window shattered, and Bryce jumped up on it and cleared the glass with her paws. She then looked around, once people started to notice her she started to bark at them. Bryce then got out of the window and bit down on the other end of the sheet and gestured for the kid to go out the window.
The kid got up on the ledge and Bryce heard people calling out to her. Which was good, Bryce wanted them to get closer to catch the kid. Bryce started to lower the kid down until she was back up on the window ledge.
She looked down and the kid was just barely above someone’s arms so Bryce let go of the sheet and dropped her into their arms. Bryce felt extremely relieved to see the people who grabbed her quickly pull her away from the building.
Someone called out to Bryce to jump into his arms, but before she could the flames came bursting in through the room, pushing Bryce against a wall and surrounding her with flames. Seconds later, parts of the roof fell in, trapping Bryce in the room.
Bryce looked around and knew she was stuck, and this was it. She lay down and closed her eyes. She was a bit scared, but she also knew it was okay. It was worth it, she saved that kid and that’s all that mattered.
It got hard for Bryce to breathe and she passed out thinking it would be the last time she’d be awake. After passing out Bryce found herself in an endless field. She was in a strange human dog form and she was running as far as she wanted, and she was quite happy.
Then things got strange when a sheep woman appeared claiming to be her friend Josh. They talked and Josh explained everything that was going on. Apparently, Ryker had given her a real talisman from the show, the dog talisman, and that's how she ended up as a dog girl.
Josh also said that all of them had forms like the one Bryce was in now, along with a full human and full animal form that they could change into at will. Then finally before leaving, Josh said Tyson was on her way to pick Bryce up and bring her back home.
After that, Bryce woke up lying on the lap of a firefighter. The second she noticed Bryce was awake she got super excited. She patted Bryce all over and called her a good girl more times than she could count.
The firefighter called Bryce a hero for saving the little girl. Once she stopped Bryce got up and jumped off her lap to find that they were in some sort of apartment now, one not on fire. Bryce turned and looked at the woman.
The woman smiled and welcomed Bryce to her home. Bryce was confused. Then the woman pulled out a piece of paper. She explained she had adopted Bryce, as she couldn’t leave such an amazing dog in some crowded pound.
Bryce didn't know why but she felt so happy. She ran over to her, jumped up on her, and started to lick her. She felt so happy and relaxed, that she didn’t notice herself reverting back into her real form, the half-dog form.
Bryce blurted out that she was so happy for the woman. Both of them were shocked, and Bryce got off of her and looked at herself. Bryce then explained everything to the woman, who was surprisingly understanding.
The woman got up and patted Bryce on the head. She said Bryce was very special for a human and a dog, and that if she ever wanted a home, hers was open to her. Bryce held back tears, hugged the woman, and thanked her.
She waved her goodbye as she walked out of the house to meet up with a rabbit girl waiting outside. Bryce looked at the address and made sure to memorize it. If she is stuck like this, she thinks she’ll want to come back here. With that, she grabbed Tyson’s hand and sped off.
