The emotional roller coaster you experience during this episode is one of the reasons why this anime is considered to be the best by many. After you are done with the series I think you should react to 4 OVAs, 4-koma theater skits (which are available on Youtube as sub and dub) and English dub bloopers. OVAs are as good as any other episode of Fullmetal Alchemist and bloopers and 4-koma theater skits are funny as hell.
