Yeah, I was also kinda frustrated that they didn't talk....but then I realized that whatever compromise they might try to reach, Meruem's basic "demand" would likely be that he wants to be the ultimate king (he was born to be).
And that just doesn't seem to be compatible with the basic "demand" of humanity not to be ruled by another race.
I sucks but it doesn't really feel like there would be a common denominator for both parties involved at this point🙁

When they show netero doing that thing with his hands it's actually just showing that he is moving incredibly fast. Remember in episode 111 when they showed him training and afterwards it said his fists were faster than sound.

Excited to see the HXH reaction earlier this week. I also really appreciated that they gave the royal guards development. The shock and awe felt when you saw Netero use that attack is definitely something shared. I couldn’t hear the noise from your play station until you pointed it out, so you’re all good there. The issue with Netero talking to Meruem is that Netero knows no matter what he says, Meruem will still kill a lot of people, so that wouldn’t help anything. Great reaction as always.

I'm so happy you shed some tears over Youpi's development he is such an underrated character; my favorite line is when he says " You look like a little fly that's gonna die, that's why you're so amazing". He recognizes as humans even though they're weaker than him they still have the determination and resolve to keep going even when things are bleak and I think that was Togashi's commentary on how humanity is as a whole.

Something interesting to keep in mind: Netero’s Nen ability, 100-type Guanyin Bodhisattva, is named after, well, Guanyin Bodhisattva. A bodhisattva is someone who has made considerable progress on the path to becoming a Buddha. If I remember correctly becoming a Bodhisattva is just a step before becoming a Buddha. Guanyin in particular is the Bodhisattva most associated with compassion, so much so that when Jesuit missionaries made it to China and learned about them, they referred to Guanyin as the goddess of mercy. So yeah, Netero is trying to kill the King with kindness.

Oh! Patreon didn't give me notifications the last couple days. Looks like I've gotta watch this and Mob Psycho now. You've saved me from another late night of bad movies.
