I think the workouts & getting by without his powers is also about "earning" something meaningful in his life instead of just coasting by on the powers he was >born< with - he didn't do anything to get them, they were just there; with fitness & other skills they are proof that he put in the effort to earn them
When the goal is easy to get to (shortcut using his powers to e.g. lift weights), archieving it doesn't say anything about his effort

Also you can watch the OP and ED, they're not spoilery, and the ED is really well made, it's all hand-painted glass smudges every frame

Really happy you gave this show a try and you seem to be enjoying it!
(Not to be TOO snide but it would seem you have realized that it isn't at all like Rick & Morty which is good! ;P)

This episode is really good. The first few episode was just silly fun but I like how it get more deep.
Also I've decide to watch Mod at the same pace as you, AP, so I haven't seen ep6 yet.
Cheers

I love that this story opens with Reigen's con-man shenanigans, and I think that a lot of people immediately have a somewhat negative opinion of him especially because of how he treats Mob with the exorcism jobs. I really think this is intentional. Dimple's "That doesn't sound impressive knowing it comes from Reigen" can reflect the audience.
However, the speech that he gave to Mob that we're shown in this episode begins to shine a new light on Reigen, and why Mob seems to genuinely trust and respect his "master." :)
