Ok I finally can sit down and watch Psycho Pass reaction. I’m not even sure you’re going to read this. It’s been a while since you posted it, We don’t know much about the 2 guys in the intro. I guess we’ll learn about them later. Yes, the robot doll things are police “hologram” . It's just to make it more friendly than the drone underneath I guess. BTW all of those are guessed I’ve seen part of the show years ago when it was released but I don’t remember a thing. The whole premise is they are monitoring everyone and when you have deviant signs you are pre-judge so you either have to go to therapy or be arrested. Oh yea they are using latent criminals to capture other latent criminals. I guess you need people ready to fight and be disruptive to capture criminals. You see than they call Akane their 2nd owner. They are objects to the police. People put in jail before they commit a crime is the whole premise of this show. If they psycho pass get cloudy and are label as latent criminal they are dealt with. They are short staff so they throw her to the wolf with very little training. Latent criminal is not about reading the future, it is just the psychological state. They judge that in this state they have the potential to become a criminal so they are dealt with before they become a criminal just based on a psych analysis. That's the thing with pre-judging. In the criminal mind he thinks if I’m judged as a criminal for crimes I haven’t committed I might as well commit them since he’s going to be punished regardless. She is in over her head. I think she is just fresh out of police school so it’s her first field jobs without proper training from what I can tell, she know nothing about the mission and what to expect. The enforcers are latent criminals. Like they said earlier if she doesn’t like what they do just use the gun on them. It’s true that what they teach in school sometimes doesn’t translate well in real work. Well many things do but it’s different when you try to apply it in the real world. The system is doing all the judging, there is no trial nor anything based on your psychological state you are prejudged and executed. Yes, we want to hear your opinion. That is the main reason why we are here. Otherwise we would just watch the episode on our own and skip the whole reaction. That is where the system failed. If you have a very high trauma like being raped. Your psyche will be all over the place so the system will judge you as a risk. Maybe the system has a low crime rate but when you preemptively kill every innocent person with trauma and don’t let anyone who is slightly broken live. That is fuck up. See how flawed the system is, the threat level went down. So one moment she is just irrecuperable then afterward it seems that we can use therapy after all. It just proves that the system when judging someone has to be killed is not always the case and circumstances can change. After episode discussion. I pretty much agree with what you’re saying. Moment scanning is unfair. The enforcers are jaded and rely 100% on the sybil system. They told Akane in the first moment of the episode to just trust the gun. That why the system is fuck up. If they kill the victim well she is just a statistic, a latent criminal taken out. Their protocol doesn't account for innocent people dying. They are all pre-judge and when killed it’s just another criminal. So it looks good on paper when you present to the public we eliminated X amount of latent criminals to keep you safe and there is a low crime rate. They don’t say what percentage of those criminals were just innocent people in a stressful situation. Maybe the murder rate goes down but most people are being murder by the system. Yes, nothing is done to de-escalate. They just blindly trust the sybil if it says kill, they kill. No regard that they are the cause for the level to go up to the lethal like they’ve done with the victim. Psycho Pass is good and right up your alley on what you like I think it’s a good idea to get this back to YT, From what I gather I don’t think there is a chip. They just scan the person. Magic of technology. Take care. 😋

yeah its definitely great seeing others enjoy something you love. almost like watching it for the first time again but through their eyes. it's great.

Yeah it's unfortunate. Gintama is actually one of the most popular series in East Asia, particularly in Japan and China where it gets millions of views for any content related to it. I suppose it's a balance between personal enjoyment and views. If it's fun to keep going then by all means, if not then feel free to drop it. Idk about others but I definitely would watch the reaction of it. I want to revisit those episodes but I never had motivation to do it on my own.

So glad you enjoyed this! It's definintely one of my favorites. I think this first episode sets up the world perfectly and you're already asking the right questions. When the guy initially got flagged they were just going to force him to go to therapy but because he ran and drove himself into a corner it ended up raising his psycho pass to the point of him getting killed. For the victim they were going to paralyze her and send her to therapy with the hopes that she would recover and be allowed to go about her life again. Since Akane intervened the woman ran and again drove herself into a corner which almost led to her getting killed. For your request: Akane Tsunemori: new inspector Ginoza Nobuchika: senior inspector with glasses Kogami Shinya: enforcer that Akane shot Kagari Shusei: red haired enforcer Tomomi Masaoka: older enforcer with metal arm Kunizuka Yayoi: female enforcer The Sibyl system isn't a chip it's more like mass survielence on steriods. Everything about your mental state is monitored by the sensors that are set up pretty much everywhere around the country. Psycho-pass and crime coefficient are used somewhat interchangeably. Psycho-pass refers to the color or hue assigned to the person's current mental state and crime coeffcient is the number value given.

Glad you enjoyed this! A pretty big swing from Darling to this huh? I "watched" it on youtube too since this was my pick lol. This is one of my favorites, lots of moral thinking in it, can't wait to see you react to more. Akane didn't really save her since if she wasn't there she would have been paralyzed first before her crime coefficient even rose high enough it went to lethal. Paralyze her and get her to therapy/away from the situation before it gets worse, let a professional help rather than trying to talk them down yourself, but you are right it's nice she is kinda a fresh set of ideals for the police department who just seem to do what the sibyl system tells them too. That scene also did show some of what you were talking about with changes and scanning them at different times, after Akane talked to her it went back down so it's not set in stone. I think Kougami wanted Akane to shoot him before he used the lethal eliminator on the girl, I think that's what the words we didn't hear were, him reminding her to shoot him if he did something she didn't like. I'll leave it there before I go on talking about stuff we see next episode on some of your speculations, again, very glad you are watching this should be a fun one with all the moral dilemmas.

you can get to your stopping point and see for yourself if the toll of watching Gintama outweighs your earnings. otherwise, do what other patreon reactors do and just keep it in the slow run and throw in another show as substitute since it is a pretty relax show. cause gintama sure as hell not gonna be pullin in any big daddy pay checks, not atleast until you arrive at certain parts.

With Gintama, it's not by any means a popular show in the west. it's ranks higher than 99% of the shows on websites in rating (#1 on anilist), but it gets DWARFED in terms of popularity numbers. Gintama doesn't have a lot of yt reactors for the sad fact it's just not as popular and that's how it gets dropped almost all the time since it's not pulling in crazy views, thus the cycle. Thats just how it is unfortunately. I'm positive that every person that voted it has intent to watch it tho. Anyways, ofc 2 eps is preferable but it's up to you in the end.

This show incorporates a lot of stuff from criminal justice, and good thing I have a bachelors in it 🤓 lol. This is interesting since they’re arresting people who have yet to commit a crime, but the people who they are arresting are those who have a high level to commit an offense. What’s funny enough this existed in the real world, Cesare Lombroso who is the father of modern criminology. He stated we could find out who would be a criminal through physical features, the problem being he was a racist who mentioned physical features of minorities. He did open the way for studying criminals scientifically, and we are able to know why criminals commit offenses. They’re measuring the risk they pose to society, that guy committing those horrible things because he might have had a predisposition to commit those offenses. He mentions controlling those urges, but as soon as he got flag the pleasure outweighed the risk. We don’t know if the women afterwards would return to normal or stay in that state and become a threat to the public’s safety; we haven’t seen their treatment of criminals in jails or if they have rehabilitation methods here. A lot of inmates in the prison systems have some kind of learning disabilities, so we are arresting those who might not have the intelligence to know what they did was so wrong. One of the reasons deterrence seem good, but might not work in the real world since criminals can’t outweigh the punishment in their heads. Also I don’t believe we should be arresting those who have yet to commit a crime, since it’s a gross violation of their rights as well as a lack of due process for those individuals. Super interesting show I would say, I can see this show in a different light since I studied criminal justice so I can pick up certain things.

damn talk about dark this lady was about to be killed for being a victim. i can tell this is gonna be a good one looking forward to the next episode

Louie23_LA

just speak your mind when you feel like it - the whole point of the show is morality & how you define "justice" ;) Love the topic because you could discuss it for years - if there was an impartial system that could evaluate people by numbers, would it be better or worse than all the different people in law enforcement making individual (maybe biased) decisions? What's more important - case-by-case judgement (individual empathy) or the best outcome for society as a whole (statistics, "most happiness for the most people")? Looking forward to stick along for the ride :D

Radoras

If possible do 2 episodes of gintama at a time, since a lot of good anime are coming out soon. Would be good to finish when the other shows come out. Looking at gintama reactions of yt people are doing them, just not a lot of views for them. I do think a lot of people vote because they see their favorite show as an option. Regardless of how popular it is, there’s also more comedy anime that gets more views. The decision is yours, just to see if views continue to stay at the 1.4K mark. Just monitor it, and make sure how it’s doing; now I gotta watch the new show!

Sebastian

I love psycho pass. Season one might be one of the deepest anime out there. At a point it made me and some friends question life XD

Swan

Psycho Pass. I didn't remember I started this one a couple years ago. Poor memory 😂. But it going to be a good contrast with a darker anime. I'm going out this evening so I'll watch it later tonight. 😋
