As for the spy scene, he seems pretty suspect when you take into account Subaru's current position. The king of Lugnica mysteriously disappeared, and out of nowhere here comes a strange foreigner who knows nothing of the country, yet he managed to save the life to a candidate for the throne. And his one request is to live in the same manor as her. For the viewer it makes sense, but for Roswall it's too suspicious.
