2020-08-03 19:37:23 +0000 UTCWith introducing the fake rules, Light basically turned it from having more information on rules than L to L not knowing which rules are real & which aren't; even if they figure out after 13 days, where noone is killed and none of them dies; that the rule is BS, they can't be sure which other rules are fake, so he still as the advantage...either that or he could use the "13-day-rule" as an excuse to kill them off one after another, saying it's because they refused to write down names; will be interesting to see

2020-08-03 17:57:36 +0000 UTCYeah, that's what I'd say too. They said, if you don't own the Notebook you lose your memories again as soon as you're not touching it anymore. And Misa didn't lose her memories in the end after digging up Light's Death Note because Light had reliquished ownership of the Death Note, so Misa became the owner by picking it up and can retain her memories without holding it.

2020-08-03 10:42:00 +0000 UTCThe second rule is most likely also made up, because Light specifically thinks: "That's right, with a rule like this in place you won't try to destroy the Death Note and I won't lose my memories" And after that we directly cut too Riuk asking Rem whether it's all right to make up fake rules. Additionally those two are the only rules that are written in the back of the Death Note.

2020-08-03 07:29:47 +0000 UTCAs for why L is watching Light and Misa so closely in the end, it's because the whole scene is suspicious to him. Amnesiac!Light is NOT in love with Misa, and although he's perfectly polite and gentlemanly to/with her, he does not step over the boundaries of an acquaintance or possibly a distant friend. He is trying not to lead her on, so he purposefully holds himself at a distance from her, and does not show her very much affection, simply because he doesn't feel that affection for her, and does not want to give her mixed signals. Kira, on the other hand, warmly embraces her for a long time, like she's a girlfriend he hadn't seen in quite a while. The real Light would never have done that, and it's suspicious that he seems so close to her now when even a day before, he was cool and distant. Light would not manipulate/seduce Misa Amane into helping with the investigation. Kira absolutely WOULD(and IS) manipulating and seducing her to use her(and her Eyes) as a weapon.

2020-08-03 07:08:11 +0000 UTCFor the ownership thing, you made a good point about not being able to regain ownership of a notebook that was never hers, but I personally think it's because she didn't touch the full notebook; she only touched a torn piece of a page, and only for a fraction of a second. The memories wouldn't have had time to return, and they would've been wiped instantly even if they did. The only thing that stuck was being able to see the Shinigami tied to the notebook, because that's a rule that's already been established.
