Man, after Sonju's talk I really got a sinking feeling that Minerva is not to be trusted, the further the episode went on, because I was just like:
"This shelter is equiped way to good...how would anyone be able to built this without the demons noticing? Where would another human get the resources for this shit? Oh, man, don't tell me Minerva is just as fucked up as Sonju :o"
And then this ending.....I really wonder, whether the writers are playing us here or this really is just one giant setup for the kids :/

π I wanted to edit and press the wrong button and deleted my long answer ππ
Here my theory. In his story about 1000 years ago. Demons used to hunt humans. Then humans fight back sometimes kill demons. I believe that a perfectly natural way of thing for demons. You hunt a ferocious adversary sometimes you win sometimes you die perfectly natural.
Now for human that not how we live. They decide to remove themself from half the word. And give Farm as a compensation.
If I try to think like a demon (hard to do because we barely know them only 3 episode in so I might be wrong)
What a vile unnatural human concept is this farming. You used to hunt a ferocious "beast" who can kill you in a fair fight to eating a tamed defenceless child who knows nothing.
I think Sonju believes the next generation will have grown hunting knowing the demon is the enemy and learn to kill. Sonju even teaches them how to kill demon at the end of the episode you aim at the eye in the middle of the face.
So hunting a human that fights back that knows how to kill you fair game. Eating defenceless tame farmed child who doesn't know any better unnatural human concept.

Agh yes!! Mr. Puck!! π»πΈ
Also, yes I am just as confused on what makes them different. βWildβ. I would agree with you though actually. It makes more sense. Like itβs okay to eat then if they are just out in the wild, but if they are βdemon-madeβ at the farm, itβs different because itβs not natural. I guess it is kinda like organic vs nonorganic! π‘I donβt get why it matters though. Maybe heβll explain it more later.
Yes!! That sound effect is fucking eerie. It got me on the first episode of season 1 too!! π«ππ

I think the reason why Sonju won't eat farmed humans but is looking forward to eating "wild humans" has to do with their (Sonju and Mujika's) religious beliefs. I say that because the only other reason I could think of is because he doesn't believe/agree with the farming, but he's ok with eating them if they are wild or "natural" as he put it--which makes less sense. You're not ok with sentient beings being farmed but you're ok with eating their natural spawn? That's why I think it's some weird shit with his religion like they are forbidden to eat processed food, only organic π .
Also, the way they showed like 7 min of the kids dancing around in that place all happy with the music and stuff before flashing that HELP scene with the screech sound... definitely made it hit different for me. So unsettling π°.
Oh yeah, and I'm glad I finally know who that cat plushie is sitting next to you π .

I've stopped asking myself those questions. It can only end badlyπ but seriously I'm not even sure who you're talking about and no Do NOT answer that. I'd rather be surprised than hinted. π

Sort of got Hisoka vibes with Sonju looking forward to the fruits of their maturation. An ulterior motive behind their protective acts.

Nobody replied π you posted too early and nobody's here J/K π Great reaction. Keep them coming I want more! The way they made the episode nothing much happen quiet almost calm but so much tension at the end and not just one but two cliffhangers. π°
