1) A scientific expedition to a remote desert planet concludes and comes away with a stowaway, an absolutely tiny [your favorite desert anthro desert species] girl. Briefly exposed to a society advanced thousands of years beyond hers, she can’t be returned safely, but that doesn’t matter to her. Her species is used to extreme famine with very little food available, so she’s completely enthralled by just how easy food is to be found in a post-scarcity society. Her body puts everything she eats to the most efficient possible use, instantly, granting her strength, stamina, and size unheard of on her home planet. She’s growing gigantic, fast, and things are better than they’ve ever been, until it hits that part of the ‘year’ on her home planet and becomes time to BREED.
2) A kobold finally decides enough is enough. They're gonna be taken seriously damn it, and after another bout of teasing from someone much taller than him, he chooses to put on a few feet and get bigger. When he comes around to show off his new size he gets caught off guard. They're even bigger than before! And so begins a constant fight for him to try and get bigger than them while they just keep inexplicably getting bigger each visit.
