He's saying that in Japan they like having a rigid structure like baseball where you have to do one job, but in soccer someone as a forward may have to switch to defense at a moments notice. He's telling them to be flexible, to not just focus on their 1 position Also team V scoring 8-0 reminded me of Germany and Brazil 7-1 from yhe world cup, where Brazil lost in their own country. That would ruin a team in a match would make them not wanna play anymore

Also it's usually a point of pride to only field players from your country on the national team. You can still have a professional career without playing for a national team and there are other prestigious championships than just the World Cup.
